The width will be 35mm wide and 30mm deep, this rim will be manufactured by new process, to make sure this new rim will be strong enough, to make it a read DH rim and AM rim. Do you like the new bike rims 26er with bead hook or without bead hook? For hookless, it is new design. And specialized has used this design. It looks like the new design is popular. For hookless rim, it is easier for manufacturing. It's known that clinchers do offer an advantage in rolling resistance but is difficult to make a durable carbon bead hook. Please find as below. This design makes the 26er hookless rim stronger and less susceptible to damage when riders smash into rocks on the trail or land awkwardly off a jump. With the hook gone, engineers set out to tighten the seal between rim and tire. It's very necessary because the sealant had less material to cling to, making it easier for air to escape. The fix is simple but effective: the new rim has a wider inner shoulder, which gives the tire's bead more surface area to seal against. There's also a more robust rim strip that prevents sealant from leaking through the rim's spoke holes. Without the hook, we were also able to thicken the rim wall, making it even stronger. It also means that one potential weakness is removed. Together, these improvements keep the tire from blowing off the rim once it's inflated. Novatec A291/F582 are for Campagnolo 10/11 speed. Bitex RAF10/RAR9 Shimano freehubs are ok for 10/11s, and Campagnolo freehubs are also ok for 10/11s. The quick release is NOT included with DT hubs and Bitex hubs , but customers can order light Ti-quick release skewers separately from us.

Wider tires tend tob have better grip on web or irregular road surface. In the past, road racers using 21mm tires at 150 psi (10 bar) for everyday usage. By 2012, we’ve seen nearly a universal adoption of 23 and 25mm tires by the Pro Peloton, at pressures from 90 to 115 pounds. Now, they often use up-to-28mm tires and even lower pressure. Second, the wide rims improve handling or cornering.For example, suppose there is a 23mm tire. Mount this tire on both a 19mm wide and 23mm wide rim. The tire’s contact patch on the 19mm rim is long and narrow, and with the 23mm rim is short and wide (relatively). The wider rim increases air volume slightly, and makes the tire’s sidewalls more vertical. In theory, the tire casing has to deflect less to make the same size contact patch – easy enough. Below is showing the ranges of tire size that is recommended for each rim size. For example, a narrow 13c clincher rim measures 13mm on the inside walls. This generally correlates to an outside width of 18.5-19.5mm, but it varies depending on manufacturer and rim wall thickness. An "average" road rim used to be a 13c or 15c, and many of the new wide rims are 17c. A 17c rim generally lends to an outside measurement of about 23mm. The team at Light Bicycle is committed to producing a better carbon 650b rims & 650b wheels. Therefore, after months of testing and rider feedback on the newly released 27.5 carbon rim, Light Bicycle has moved to completely overhaul the manufacturing process greatly improving the strength and reliability of the 650b bikes rims. During the redesign, we focused on five main improvements, carbon length/layup, carbon base ring removal, air bladder removal, internal uniformity improvement, and enhance testing protocols. 1.The standard carbon layup procedure involves forming the rim out of three pieces, this simplifies and accelerates production however there are a few drawbacks in comparison to using a single piece in forming. Swapping over to single piece construction took a good amount of work but the benefits are worth it. Based on the single point of overlap the new rims are both stronger and lighter. 2. Another standard trend that we decided to change is that of using a pre-cured carbon ring as a base to build the wheel from. Again this simplifies and accelerates production, increasing uniformity during the old way of manufacturing. However there are a few notable drawbacks, chief among them performance loss with weight and ruggedness. When using a pre-cured ring in forming, the ring has to be heated again when going through final curing. This can impact the strength of the rim, so normally the ring is made extra thick to preserve strength at the cost of weight. With our new process we completely changed the layup schedule and manufacturing, forgoing the standard pre-cured ring. This takes a little longer and more effort but we have found the results to be excellent. In spoke tension testing the new rim could maintain twice the resistance while still shaving weight overall. Curing carbon ring 3. A third major difference in the manufacturing process is centered on air bladder removal. In the past due to the type/thickness of bag, a square hole was used in removal. This square notch was a weak point even after a carbon patch was installed and main rim structure was not as strong as it could be. With a change to the bag material we were able to use a smaller round hole for removal. At the end of the curing process the hole is then used as a standard spoke hole eliminating any excess loss of material or inherent weakness. 4. One of the major goals of the redesign was to improve internal uniformity of each rim. If a rim is not uniform it’s inevitable that there will be weak points that result. After the layup rescheduling, removal of the pre-cured carbon ring from the process, and change in the air bag removal the resulting rim is a huge step forward in strength and uniformity. 650B carbon rim cross section 5. Finally to top off the new 650b rims design we needed to be able to get true insight into the changes that were being made therefore we expanded the quality assurance testing.
