The bike as seen in the picture is build as a "fast" but durable and practical all year round commuter and Sun best bike in one. Very few people would choose carbon rims for commuting but with the right number of spokes and wide enough tyres to offer some additional cushioning against potholes the setup has proven to be bombproof over a span of almost 8 months. The mudguards are smooth Velo Orange 45mm sprayed with a truck bed liner paint for less traditional and more rugged look. I used two rear ones for more coverage at the front. The rims are laced to Hope Pro 28H and 32H hubs + DT Comp spokes and brass nipples for durability. In winter I run Specialized Roubaix 32mm (36mm actual width) and in the summer S-works Turbos 28mm (stretching to 32mm) tyres. Tubeless installation was smooth and uneventful. With such wide rims, tyres not only "grow" in size but they are very well supported in corners. I never run mine at more than 60-65PSI.

Super tidy! What mudguards are those? They look exactly like what I'm looking for

Hi Philip. Velo Orange smooth 45mm. I've used two rear ones for more coverage at the front. I believe they are available in black but mine were silver before I resprayed them with a truck bed liner paint

Thank you very much. Excellent choice, I'll see if I can fit the 45s on my gravel bike. Batman would be proud of your bike.
