Comments on Recon RIM AM728/EN728

AM728 asymmetric rim profile carbon 27.5 inch mtb rims

B

Butch 2019/04/08

On the AM728 rims, what is the best rim tape width for a tubeless setup?

LightBicycle 2019/04/08

Hi Butch, You can choose 25mm rim tape for AM728 650B rims all mountain. Here's our recommendation for rim tape widths. Hope this can help you out. Let me know if you need any other help. Thanks, Lightbicycle

I'm trying to use coupon code H8VYJMAC for buying rim EN728 but it says it is invalid

LightBicycle 2018/12/25

Hi Brian, The coupon code is for global warehouse(China) now. If you purchase from North American warehouse, the code can not work. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Dan 2018/12/26

Thanks for sharing this. I missed the coupon by 12 hours so I’ll be buying elsewhere.

LightBicycle 2018/12/26

Hi Dan, I am sorry about that! If you miss the coupon, we can work on invoices with the same discount for you. Do you like to order AM728 rims? How many? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi, I am looking for a pair of EN728 32H rims, what is the max psi and spoke tension ? Thanks. Ryan

LightBicycle 2017/06/12

Hi Ryan, The max tire pressure for this rim is 75psi. And the recommended tire pressure is 20psi ~ 30psi, you can have a try. The max spoke tension is 180kgf. Normally, we use below spoke tension for wheels building. Non-drive side: 80 ~ 90kgf, Drive side: 110 ~ 120kgf Thanks, Lightbicycle

Sake 2016/12/15

Hello, I already have a set of Hope pro 4 evo hubs. Do you know what spoke length I will need when buying these rims? Thanks in advance.

LightBicycle 2016/12/17

Hello Sake, Due to the complexity and variations with calculating spoke lengths, we cannot guarantee the spokes will be the perfect length for your wheels. For this reason it is best to confirm the spokes length with your own builder. If you still like us to calculate the spokes length for your reference, please confirm below details. • Hole count • Front and rear axle width • Straight pull or J-bend? • Spoke nipple length? 14mm? Thanks, Lightbicycle

S

Sake 2017/01/07

Hi, the hole count is 32 widths are 15x100 and 12x142 the hubs are J-bend spoke nipples are 14mm yes thank you

LightBicycle 2017/01/09

Hello Sake, It will be great if you answer your reply via email. Then I will create the purchase link based on our email record when you are ready to order. Thank you! Thanks, Lightbicycle

I would like to order EN728 32h with dt swiss 240s boost hubs, and dt revolution spokes. Can you please let me know what the spoke lengths would be for drive and non-driveside? Thanks!

Light-Bicycle 2016/11/07

Hello Jaco, Thanks for your inquiry. We can build the wheels directly if you order the rims/ hubs/ spokes here. Does that work for you? The price is much expensive is you buy the parts separately. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Francesco 2016/10/05

Already buyed an EN728 wondering if you coul give me spokes lenght for 32 hole hub kong rear 142x12 by Tune

Light-Bicycle 2016/10/09

Hello Francesco, Sorry for the late reply. We were on National Day vacation during Oct 1st ~ 7th. For spokes length, it will be great if you confirm with your own builder. Because different builders and lacing pattern will use different spokes length. Or please let us know the following and we can calculate the spoke length for your reference. • Hub manufacturer name and model • Hole details as attached picture showed • Straight pull or J-bend? . Lacing pattern? Thanks, Light-bicycle

hello. could i run tire width of only 2.1 inches on these ID28mm rims? regards Simon

Light-Bicycle 2016/09/13

Hello Simon, Thanks for your inquiry. The recommend tires size for AM728 is 2.1'' -2.7''. So you can run the 2.1'' tires. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Jem 2016/09/08

My body weight is 57kg and I am riding a 160mm travel full suspension bike. Will the 28holes AM728 be strong enough for Enduro use?

Light-Bicycle 2016/09/09

Hello Jem, Thanks for your inquiry. You are not a large rider, so 28H rim is suitable for you. If you ride aggressively, then go with the EN728. The enduro version is a heavier weight due to the additional reinforcement. The thicker walls can handle heavier and more aggressive riders making this the best choice for Enduro style riding. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Ron 2016/09/05

I purchased a EN728 and AM728 hoops to build up. what spoke length do you use for Hope PRO 2 hubs 32H in a 3cross lace pattern? Also can a local purchase be made for what I need? Thanks

Light-Bicycle 2016/09/06

Hello Ron, Thanks for your support. I checked with our builder, and below are the spokes length we use for EN728 and AM728 wheels built with Hope pro2 32H hubs. -Lacing pattern: 3 cross for front & rear -Front wheel: 264mm-NDS and 266mm-DS -Rear wheel: 265mm-NDS and 265mm-DS Due to the complexity and variations with calculating spoke lengths, we cannot guarantee the spokes will be the perfect length for your wheels. For this reason, it will be better if you double check the spokes length with your own builder. Because for different builders and lacing pattern, the spokes length will be different. It is best to source the spokes locally, however we can also sell them if they cannot be purchased locally. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Mark 2016/08/22

Hi, i am chasing spoke length for EN728 / Hope Pro 4 hub build. 15 x 100mm front / 12 x 142mm rear Cheers

Light-Bicycle 2016/08/23

Hello Mark, Thanks for your contact. I double checked with our builder, and we will use below spokes length for EN728 wheelset built with Hope pro4 J-bend 6-bolt 32H hubs. But the spokes length are not what we recommend, and just for your reference. For this reason it is best to source the spokes locally, however we can also sell them if they cannot be purchased locally. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Light-Bicycle 2016/07/29

Gordon 2016/07/11

Hi, I am looking to buy a pair of carbon mountain bike rims AM 728 or EN728. I have a pair of Hope Pro4 hubs 110 Boost front and 148 Boost rear, both 32 hole. Can you please tell me what length of spokes I would need or can you supply me with the spokes I would need? Regards Gordon

Light-Bicycle 2016/07/12

Hello Gordon, Thanks for your inquiry. The spokes length we use for AM728 or EN728 wheels (built with Hope pro4 boost 32H hubs & DT competition race spokes) are as below. -Lacing pattern: 3 cross for front & rear -Front wheel: 264mm-NDS/ 266mm-DS -Rear wheel: 266mm-NDS/ 264mm-DS The spokes we use are DT competition race spokes. We can supply the spoke also. It is $1.67/pcs including nipple. If you use other brands, the length will be slightly different. It will be better if you double check the spokes length with your builders. Because different builders and lacing pattern will use different spokes length. Thanks, Light-bicycle
