Hi there! I'm really really excited about buying a Light Bicycle wheelset but I'm stuck on which rims to go with! I am aggressive 70kg rider and do a mix of all mountain and enduro. I will definitely go for the DT 240s straight pull hubs with 54t ratchet, and for reference I am currently running 30mm internal aluminium rims with 2.5" tyres. I am currently choosing between the Recon EN728 and Recon RM650BC05HD. It looks like the weight on these is the same (454g vs 455g) but according to the rim comparison page the EN728 is the same impact strength but much stiffer (13.5 side, 10.7 vert vs 12.2 side, 7.8 vert). Is this analysis correct? I am happy to go with the 28mm internal rim if it is stiffer. Total wheelset weight and price are very similar so I am just looking to get the best result! It also looks like the EN728 is in stock currently so it would be great to take advantage of the very short lead time. Thank you very much for any help.

LightBicycle 2019/03/18

Hi Alex, Yes, our comparison figures were scale relatively according to our lab testing data. The EN728 is more stiff. Actually, we have only last two EN728 650B rims in stock, they are with UD, matte, 32H. Are the specs ok with you? I can reserve the rims for you in case it sold to others. Their weights are 454g and 462g. Thanks, Lightbicycle

hi my name is idan and i'm from israel. i look for carbon wheels in the web and i read good things about you. i just bought new bike - pivot 429 trail 29'er wheelset. it comes with front 15*110 boost and rear super boost plus 12*157. you can see explanation in pivot website, in the FAQS section, about the rear super boost . https://www.pivotcycles.com/en/bike-trail-429-1 i want light wheelset (i ride xc trails and some all mountain), min' inner width 27 and max' 30. what the different between the recon and the pro recon? give me please all the options that i can ride..how much it will cost the shipping.. give me the best price because i have few friens here that want to upgrade their wheels. thank you very much and hope to hear from you soon. idan.

LightBicycle 2019/03/18

Hi Idan, For hubs front 15*110mm boost/rear 12*157mm super boost, we only have Industry Nine Hydra hubs here. The wheelset price will be high with Industry Nine hubs. It will be higher than USD1200/pair. I am not sure whether 12*157mm DHL size works for you, we can get Hope hubs for 29er wheelset. For recon and recon pro difference, Recon pro is with new tecnologies, more durabel and longer warranty serive, but higher price. You can check below link for more information. Which do you like? Then we can recommend 29er wheelset with inner width 27mm~30mm accordingly for you. https://www.lightbicycle.com/newsletter/differences-briefings-for-recon-pro---recon.html The shipping cost to Israel is USD127 for one wheelset by EMS delivery(7~12days for delivery). It is USD250 by DHL delivery(around 5 days for delivery). Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi, I am interested one of these rims, https://www.lightbicycle.com/Road-bicycle-rims-28mm-wide-36mm-deep-aero-clincher-road-disc-brake-available.html https://www.lightbicycle.com/Road-bicycle-rims-28mm-wide-46mm-deep-aero-clincher-road-disc-brake-available.html I can't see any details about the number of spoke holes. How many ? Also, what is the delivery time and price to the UK ? Regards, Glen.

LightBicycle 2019/02/21

Hi Glen, Thanks for your inquiry! For RR36C02 and RR46C02 rims, we can manufacture any spoke count that you like. You can click on " gloabl" first, then it will go to rim spec option. You can pick spoke hole count that you like. Please find attached picture for your reference. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Or you can list your order specs here, then we can work on invoice accordingly for you. Do you like disc or non disc? Then we can check on whether we have them ready for ship or not. Fritz 2019/02/18

Hello, I'd like to buy one wheelset. Is Tax-Prepaid delivery to Germany possible and can you assure I wont have to pay any taxes then? What is the shipping cost with TPD? And could you please send me a picture of the following rim (or a similar one) with white and with stealth decals: WRU45C02. Thank you in advance.

LightBicycle 2019/02/19

Hi Fritz, 1. Yes, we can ship to Germany by TPD (Tax-Prepaid Delivery). The tax is already included to the shipping cost, so yes, you don't have to pay for the import tax on your side. The shipping cost would be USD156 for one wheelset to Germany. Let me know the rims/wheelset that you want to order so I can create an invoice for you considering the TPD is not available online currently. 2. We sent photos for WRU45C02 with stealth and white decal for your reference. It is sent to your email. Please check. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Fuad 2019/02/18

Hi, I am interested in purchasing a WR46C02 wheelset. I understand this rim is designed for disk brakes but is it ok/safe to build it with rim brakes? If it is, do you recommend the graphene or high TG resin brake surface? Also, do you still provide sapim double square or dt swiss SQUORX nipples as on option?

LightBicycle 2019/02/19

Hi Fuad, Yes, we do have WR46C02 road wheelset with rim brake track. At global ship, When you choose hubs with front 100mm*QR/ rear 130mm*QR, these are non disc hubs, and the rims will be with rim brake track surface. 1. Below is the difference between the two brake track for your reference. I would recommend the Grooved Graphene surface for it's better braking performance. High TG Surface: Rim Brake 700C road rims use an advanced High TG resin system with a layer of graphene to help dissipate heat. The braking power and reliability is significantly improved over a basalt braking surface. Grooved Graphene Surface: Our new resin system and construction method, combined with the 3k rim track, withstands over 280°C, dissipates heat, and lowers rim temperatures faster in between braking efforts. Gain confidence-inspiring brake performance on the steepest descents and wettest conditions with our matching brake pads. Also, graphene added to the rim brake track allows for greater resistance to overheating with improved heat dissipation and reduced temperature accumulation during heavy braking. The grooved track helps evacuate trapped moisture between pad and rim in wet conditions and brings more resistance and force at the lever when conditions are dry. 2. Yes, we do still provide Sapim Dboule square nipples and DT Squorx nipples. I can mark your request to the order if you like. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Michael 2019/02/18

hi do you also offer 60mm deep wheels with aluminium break track? regards Michael

LightBicycle 2019/02/18

Hi Michael, Sorry to tell you that aluminum brake track is not available for our road rims. However, we do have two kinds of brake track optional. Are you interested? Or is there any special reason that you like to choose aluminum over carbon brake track? Please do share your thoughts. LB love to hear from you. Thanks, Lightbicycle
