TECH

At Light Bicycle, our story begins with carbon mountain bike rims—and it never ends. Our first carbon MTB rim was born in 2011. Over the years, our MTB wheels have won the unanimous favor of riders. With the innovation and changes in the mountain bike wheels market, we are excited to introduce the all-new Helios Mountain Rim Series.

As part of the new lineup, Helios AM930 is the result of a combination of engineering and testing, perfect for Trail/All Mountain use with a nice balance of ride quality, durability and outright speed. We improve the stiffness, strength and longevity of the wheel by using an asymmetric (ASYM) rim design that improves spoke tension balance. On the trail, this translates to precise handling you can rely on. The rim also features a wide rim bead for added strength, reduced risk of pinch flats, and lower tire pressures for enhanced traction and control. Plus, their 30mm inner width allows running 2.3 – 2.6 inch tires for awesome handling and trail feel.

Various hub combinations are available, such as DT Swiss, Extralite. If you have a specific color or request of hub, contact us to check on their availability. Freehubs available are: Shimano MTB 10/11S, Shimano Micro Spline, and the SRAM XD etc.

The tire pressure for this rim is recommended at 30 psi. The rider's weight limit is 265lbs. The positive stiffness test on the rim has reached 125J.

Hi Is the WMHelios-AM930 wheelset rated for ASTM-4 classification? I'm myself a lightweight rider 65kg and want a wheelset for my trail/allmountain bike. I ride in very rough rocky, terrain with jumps / drops up to approx. 120 cm height.. is this wheelset suitable

LightBicycle 2026/02/27

Hi Ferry, The Helios-AM930 mtb bike rims complies to ASTM-4 classification, it reaches 120J impact resistance. I'd suggest you go with standard version rather than flyweight version. Could you please let me know configuration details you'd like to build the Helios-AM930 then I'll quote to you according and give suggestions if needed. Thanks, Lightbicycle

How does the Helios-AM930 compare to the AM930S for use on a hardtail? This would be for my Litespeed Pinhoti 3. I'm trying to balance light weight and vertical compliance.

LightBicycle 2026/01/16

Hi Johnny, May I know your weight please? What is your riding style normally? Do you ride aggressively? Then we can check which one is better for you. Thanks, Lightbicycle
