What Are Berd Spokes and How Do They Work?
Berd spokes are crafted from a proprietary polymer- Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE)- which is 12 times stronger than steel and even floats on water. The result is an unprecedented combination of strength with staggering weight savings: at 2.5g apiece, Berd spokes save you 50% in spoke weight compared to a bladed steel Sapim spoke.
How Do Berd Spokes Feel?
The hero quality of Berd spokes is the increase in vertical compliance they offer without sacrificing lateral stiffness. Berd touts their vibration dampening as 200% better than steel spokes. This provides an incredibly comfortable ride, decreasing rider fatigue and trail chatter over any distance or terrain:
