Hello, I would like to buy carbon wheels for my road bike and I just want to confirm that «Shimano road 11S» hub is a HG type freehub that would be compatible with a shimano 10 speed cassette? Thanks! Pat «Hubss: DT Swiss straightpull / Bitex j-bend, black, 20H front / 24H rea 100mm QR & 130mm QR Shimano Road 11S »

LightBicycle 2023/08/10

Hi Pat, Thanks for reaching out! Please find the answer below: 1. Yes, «Shimano road 11S» hub is a HG type freehub that would be compatible with a shimano 10 speed cassette. We will send you a spacer to be shipped with the wheels, and you could mount the wheels on the cassette. May I know which rim you are interested in? Where are you from? Let me quote a whole set for you. Best regards, Lightbicycle

Yannick 2023/06/05

Hi, I currently have 30mm wide MTB wheelset with 2.40 tires and I'm looking for a lighter 25mm wide wheelset for 2.25 tires. Which of your wheelsets would you recommend? Thanks, Yannick

LightBicycle 2023/06/05

Hi Yannick, Is the rim width refers to the internal width of the rim? Can you tell me more about your riding style so I can recommend the best-suited wheelset moutain for you. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Bill 2022/07/31

Hi, I was looking over your TT/Track/Tri section and I could not see how I could build a set of track wheels... Obviously I looked at the Rim versions, but I did not see a track hub, or did I not look in the correct spot. I have a set of road wheels I love, and my fellow teammates have also purchased from you, so keep up the great work.. B Groves

LightBicycle 2022/08/01

Hi Bill, We understand that people usually build TT/Track with different type of wheel 700C for the front and rear. As you mentioned, you are interested in a pair of track wheels. Do you want spoked wheel or Tri-spoke for your front? What's the axle size of your bike? Thanks, Lightbicyle

Juliano 2022/05/03

I have a Specialized Allez smartweld e5 2016 frame with a maximum recommended tire size of 28 and would like to know if you have any experience on compatibility with the falcon pro wheelset, since it's width is 30mm. Thank you! Juliano De Bortoli.

LightBicycle 2022/05/03

Hi Juliano, Is the new AR565 the rim 700C you are interested in? There are 2 factors concerned with the compatibility of the wheel, The clearance of the fork and seat stays, and the limitation of the calipers. So, can you confirm the clearance and model of your calipers for me? The 30mm of AR565 is on the widest area (middle) of the rim. The wheel should be ok to mount on the calipers if the limitation is suggested 28mm. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Gee 2022/03/13

Hi guys, Can you build wheelsets with the new 'Road Boost' spacing of 12x110 / 12x148? As far as I can see, only DT and Roval are currently offering complete builds in this standard. DT have 350 hubs in this standard available. Regards, Gee

LightBicycle 2022/03/14

Hi Gee, Thanks for reaching out! We have sent you an email about road boost hubs. Please check. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Michael 2022/03/03

Hi... Am looking at purchasing a completed Mtn Bike wheelset for my existing hardtail. Mainly for amatuer XC, but also occasional bike packing. Price is a reasonable consideration, but so is light-weight. Am looking at either the RM29C06 or XC925. Some notes/questions below. Can you advise please: # I am 70kg & bike packing gear only adds 5kg. # Hubs must be QR & compatible to shimano disc (front could be 110 through-axle if need be). # Free-wheel for standard Shimano 10spd. # Can you price the lightest option in both these rims please? # And can you also suggest/price a good value for money trade-off between weight & price in both rim options please. Thanks.

LightBicycle 2022/03/03

Hi Michael, 1. The RM29C06 29er bike rim carbon fiber would make the lightest option. It's been one of our lightest and most popular rims since we introduced it to the market many years ago. It's from the Recon lineup, which is more cost-friendly 2. As for the hubs, DT SWISS would be easier to convert between sizes if needed. No special tools are required. But Carbon Ti hubs would make super lightweight wheels. But the conversion would be more difficult than DT hubs. We recommend converting the hubs to a bike shop if you are not equipped for it. Note that both DT and Carbon-Ti hubs have limits for conversion between sizes. 3. Please confirm if the hub size you want is 15QR(15/100), and 12QR(12/142). Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi, looking for spoke recommendations for length. I am building light bicycle 27.5 30mm 32 hole rims to hope pro 4 boost 32 hole hubs.

LightBicycle 2022/02/21

Hi Peter, Thanks for reaching out! Can you confirm the rim model to me so I can send you the spoke lengths? We have a few models with 30mm internal and external 27.5 rims 650B available. If you are not sure about the rm model, just send me the serial number on the rim bed, and I will check the rest for you. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Synde 2022/02/19

I'm trying to change out the wheels on my Vado SL to the same set up another guy has. This is what he posted - of what his wheel set up is. Do you have these? How much are two? Front and rear - Can tubeless be put on them and what is the max tire width size. ?? Thanks so much for your help! Cindy Wheels: Light Bicycle carbon rims, i30mm, DT Swiss 350 hubs. Tires: Panaracer GravelKing SK 27.5 x 1.9. These measure 53mm (almost 2.1”) at 30psi on the i30 rims and have plenty of clearance in the fork, seatstays, and chainstays.

LightBicycle 2022/02/19

Hi Synde, Thanks for reaching out! We have 2 models with 30mm external width, which would be your pick? AM724: Recon series, 24mm internal/30mm external, 24mm deep, 385g+/-15 each https://www.lightbicycle.com/AM724-asymmetric-rim-profile-carbon-650b-mountain-bike-rims.html XC725: Recon series, 25mm internal/30mm external, 25mm deep, 285g+/-15 for the flyweight version rim, 345g+/-15 for the standard version rim https://www.lightbicycle.com/XC725-asymmetric-rim-profile-carbon-650b-carbon-rims-mtb.html Have a nice day! Luke 2022/02/16

Hey mate Do you guys offer any 23mm wide tubular road rims? I would be looking for between 30-45mm depth. These would need to be symmetrical as they would be on track bike. No braking surface (disc brake) too. Thank you so much and have an awesome day, Luke

LightBicycle 2022/02/16

Hi Luke, Thanks for reaching out! Yes, we do have 23mm wide Tubular rims 700C available. Will 38mm deep work for you? You can proceed with the order via email later when we settle all the details. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Eric 2022/01/30

Hello, I am having a difficult time choosing between the R45 and AR45. I intend to run 700x28 or 700x30 tires with rim brakes for criterium and road racing. I understand that a wider rim profile generally proves more aerodynamic. My question is: would I benefit more from the toroidal shape of the R45, where the rim is wider (27.5mm) below the brake track (25mm) or from the V-shape of the AR45, where the rim is widest at the brake track (28mm)? Thank you for assistance.

LightBicycle 2022/01/30

Hi Eric, Thanks for your inquiry! For AR45 700C rim, the brake track widest is 28mm, but the rim middle body is with 30mm. it your bike wide enough? Is it your brake caliper wide enough for 28mm? Thanks Lightbicycle
