I finally mounted the tires and got a chance to ride the wheels! Aside from the built-perfection, I was very impressed with how easy it was to mount the tires. I got some new Pirelli P ZERO Race RS TLR tires in 32mm to go with the new wheels. They snapped on easily, and I had them on without sealant for a few days to see how they held air. What can I say? After two days, they still held nearly 4 bar (I mounted them at 5 bar). At 4 bar, the 32mm tires measure 34mm, so it’s a perfect match with the Falcon Turbos! On my first ride, I did some activation efforts and set new personal bests on two ~7-minute climbs. Last weekend, the wheels had their real first outing. I participated in the Glocknerkönig, a public race up the highest mountain pass in Austria (total 27km with 1670 meters of elevation gain, most of which comes after the first false flat 10k, so basically 17km at an average gradient of ~9% to finish at 2428m). This was my first participation, and I had never done such a long climb or reached that altitude before, so there were a lot of unknowns. However, I paced myself well and came close to my target of finishing in under 2 hours (I finished at 2:00:45). I know that climbing is not the ideal setting for the Falcon Pros, but they performed wonderfully. So all I want to say is thank you for making such beautiful and fast wheels!
