Can you please tell me why the WR38 disc (Standard) rim is $239 and the WR35 disc (Standard) rim is only $179? Why the big price difference? Thanks.

LightBicycle 2020/02/29

Hi Dave, The WR38 (32mm wide, 38mm deep) disc rim is from our Falcon Pro series, which is produced with a totally different technology and process (from the material, layup to molding). The WR38 is able to come out of the mold as a finished product. No post-production (painting, sanding, etc) applied what so ever. The scratch resistance ability is significantly increased. The rim is also stronger than traditional rims. On the other hand, WR35 (32mm wide, 35mm deep) is from our Falcon series, in which the rims are made with the traditional processes. It's also very strong, durable, lightweight, and the price is more friendly. If you are not a heavy/aggressive rider, the WR35 will be a good choice. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hello, I am interested in a wr38 based wheel set for my gravel bike. The wheels would be used for gravel racing. Would a flyweight rim with 24 spokes, cx-rays, be strong enough for the abuse of racing? I weight 65 kg and commonly wear a 5 kg hydration pack. Also, I see that the flyweight rims are only listed as a global option. Could they be sourced for the North American office to be built with i9 torch hubs? Thank you.

LightBicycle 2020/01/09

Hi Jay, 1. Sorry that you missed the Christmas sale. We do offer a 5% returning customer if you are interested. 2. What would be your idea wheel build this time? We do have DT Swiss hubs/I9/Onyx hubs for this wide road disc wheelset. Will you be interested? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Is the flyweight version suitable for my use? Using 28hole front/back hubs I weigh 86 kg Thanks

LightBicycle 2019/11/22

Hi Stan, The flyweight version of WR38 32mm wide road disc rims is okay for your weight, but we recommend the front flyweight and rear standard combo, which would be more durable. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi, On the WR38 disc, what is the maximum tyre pressure if running a 32mm tyre tubeless? Thanks, David

LightBicycle 2019/08/03

Hi David, For our WR38C road disc, the max tire pressure is 130psi recommended max. It is with hook design, can hold high tire pressure. Thanks, Lightbicycle

I would also like a hookless version of this rim. I am riding 40mm tyres at 35 psi

LightBicycle 2019/07/19

Hi Gavin, Currently, we only have hook version for road wide disc rim WR38 rims. If you like, we can make hookless version for you. It takes around 30 days, it is okay for you. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Is this rim available hookless? That would be preferred for a tubeless application.

LightBicycle 2019/06/25

HI Tyler, The hookless version of WR38 wide road 700C rim is currently not available. What is the reason that you want it to be hookless? How much tire pressure are you running with? What would be the target riding style? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Do you stock these in the North America warehouse? If not, what is the lead time to get them? Thanks, Brian

LightBicycle 2019/05/08

Hi Brian, We don't have the Falcon Pro WR38 road wide bike rim stock in North America warehouse just yet. It would be faster if you order from the Global warehouse. Usually, the rims would take about 1~2 weeks to ship. another 7~10 days for shipping and delivery. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi, Do these rims have a braking surface for rim brakes? Thanks

LightBicycle 2019/05/05

Hi Elliot, It is okay to manufacture these rims with rim brake. But is your bike and brake caliper wide enough for 32mm wide wheelset? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Any chance they can be made for rim brake too? Do you have any plans of releasing a deeper version of the 30x56? Something like 80x30mm?

LightBicycle 2019/04/29

Hi Erico, What kind of riding do you do? Is it for non disc? The all-new WR38 road rim is with a wider section than normal non-disc rims. It's 25mm inner and 32mm outer. Will this be ok with your frame and caliper? Usually, calipers have limitation for the rim width. For deeper verson coming soon, it is 50mm deep, not 80mm deep. Is it okay for you? Thanks, Lightbicycle

1) Will this work with tubeless tires? 2) Are you planning to release Falcom Pro rims in other depths? What about new tubular rims? Thank you! I'm ready to place North American order after these questions.

LightBicycle 2019/04/27

Hi Fred, Thanks for your inquiry! Yes, these new falcon pro wide road disc rims are okay for tubeless tires. You can use rim tape, sealant and tubeless tires. They will work perfectly. For falcon pro series, another 50mm depth will be ready in one week on website. For tubular version, how much tire width do you use? i will check with our engineer team. Thanks, Lightbicycle
