Ed 2023/08/14

How much is the most cheapest shipping to United States (New Jersey zip 07442) for 2 29" rims? Thanks. Ed

LightBicycle 2023/08/15

Hi Ed, Thanks for reaching out! We offer MTS-Sea as the shipping method to the USA, which is cost-effective. It's about $ 50 USD currently for two pcs 29'' rims to be shipped from the Global warehouse to your address. I have sent you more thru email, please check it :D BR, Light Bicycle

Philipp 2022/11/21

Hallo, I'd like to know if it would be possible to have a lighter layup for light gravel riding done. I like the profile of the rim but it seems much to heavy to me. I'd like to lace them up with 24 spokes with internal nippels front and rear.

LightBicycle 2022/11/21

Hi Philipp, AM933 is a All Mountain specific rim 29er. So it was designed to run under 40psi. Will you run higher than this? We do have offset gravel specific rim you can check out. The AR28, it's 22mm internal, 28mm external width, and 28mm depth. The weight is 380g. Flyweight version is 330g. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi Lester, Yes, we can ship to Philipines for sure. Could you tell me exactly what are you looking for ordering? mtb 29er rims or complete wheelset 29er? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Jason 2018/09/01

Hi, I have a pair of Hope Pro 4 hubs I wish to lace with these AM933 rims. What is the spoke length needed? My wheelbuild dimensions are: - axle size: front 15*110mm boost & rear 12*148mm boost - External hole rim - 32 hole - J-bend? - 3-Cross lacing

LightBicycle 2018/09/01

Hi Jason, Please check the spoke length that we use as below. Rims: AM933,29er rim, 32H, external nipple holes Hubs: Hope pro 4, boost front 15*110mm boost/rear 12*148mm boost, J-bend Nipples: 14mm long Lacing pattern: 3 cross Spoke length: front 283mm drive side, 282mm non-drive side rear 282mm drive side, 283mm non-drive side What nipples do you use? It will affect the spoke length also. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Cedric 2019/03/18

Hi, I am also building with hope pro 4 boost hubs. Do you recommend certain length/material nipples?

LightBicycle 2019/03/22

Hi Cedric, Mostly, we use 14G, 14mm length nipples on our wheelsets. As for material, we offer both alloy and brass. Brass is more durable than alloy mostly if you don't mind adding some weight. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Teodoro 2019/12/26

Hi, I’m also building a rear wheel with hope pro 4 hub, boost 148x12, 32 holes, 3 cross. Since I’ve only found spokes with even numbers length, what would be better for the rear non-drive side? 282 or 284 mm? Thanks

LightBicycle 2019/12/27

Hi Sir, According to our wheel building records, we used 284mm spokes for the non-drive side of the rear wheel 29er AM933 3 cross lacing. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Matt 2019/12/20

Hi, I have a set of these rims already (AM933). I run these with WT Maxxis tires and love them! I'd like to ride in the winter too, and am considering buying Schwalbe Ice Spiker Pro Winter Tyres (studded 29 x 2.25). I'm concerned that these tires might not work well with the wider inner width of these rims being only 2.25" wide. What do you think?

LightBicycle 2019/12/21

Hi Matte, Our recommended tire range is 2.3"~3.1" for the AM933 (39mm wide) 29er mountain bike rim. The 29 x 2.25 tires would be a bit narrow but should be ok to mount on. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Dunan 2018/11/09

Could I use this rim for e-bike ? if I go with the EN layup ? total weight of rider and bike about 108kg

LightBicycle 2018/11/10

Hi Duncan, This rim in EN version will be strong enough for E-bike. May i know what spokes and hubs that you will use? Is the spoke 14 gauge? Then we can check more detailly for you. Also, we will have E-bike models of rims/wheels in 2 months. If you are not urgent, you can wait for E-bike models. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Riccardo 2018/10/27

1) Is it possible to have holes drilled only in the inner wall of the rim, so only in the side facing the hub? I'm aware that it's a pain to build the wheel in this way, routing nipples through the valve hole, but when done, I get an UST rim, also a bit stronger. 2) Offset is a value mandatory, or you can drill holes also with 2.5 mm offset instead of 3 mm?

LightBicycle 2018/10/27

Hi Riccardo, Yes, we can make a UST rim for you with no extra cost. The holes usually lie in the channel center, and the drilling is with +/-6 degree angle. Do you mean you want the drilling hole to be laid offset on the rim bed? Normally, we would make offset drilling on the plus or fat bike rims. This 29er rims profile is with 3mm offset. Do you mean drilling the spoke holes 2mm offset from the rim center line? Thanks, Lightbicycle

R

Riccardo 2018/10/27

It's highly welcome to have +/- 6 degree angled drills, why don't you declare it in rim description? It's a plus for it! I've no way to provide you an attachment, with a picture it'd have been much more clear, so, lease, look above in product page at black&white drawing with rim dimensions. I mean: don't do any hole at all on the side where there is "33" (this is already agreed by your answer) and apply a value of "2.5" in place of "3" on bottom side, the same for all holes of both DS and NDS. I'm just asking if the 3 mm offset can be reduced to 2.5 mm, without weakening the rim. I think that the answer depends on how the rim is built: if (1) in the area around the drill carbon thickness is constant for a while, and (2) you can easily apply this mod to the drilling machine configuration, it can be done. If instead carbon layer thickness decreases sharply when you leave the 3mm center spot, drilling 0.5 mm laterally from the center would reduce rim strenght, as that's also may be the most critical area of the rim. The reason for this request is that I'm going to use an hub with just 5 mm of difference in left and right flange distances from center, and I'd like to apply this uncommon feature to create a perfectly balanced wheel, but I need an asymmetric rim with an offset of just 2.5 mm. Your rims with 2.5/2.6 mm offset are all smaller than this one, that as the perfect measures I'm looking for, as I'm going to build an Enduro wheel tailored for 2.6" tyres.

LightBicycle 2018/10/29

Hi Riccardo, Great! We will list +/-6degree drilling on rim specs ASAP. This 29er rim is wider, so with 3mm offset profile design. If you like 2.5 mm offset drilling, we can work on the spoke holes with 2.5mm offset from the rim center line. I just sent an drawing about the drilling. Is it what you like? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Guillaume 2018/09/11

I’m interrested by the EN933 rims for tandem bike. But the weight that our bike will support is approximatly 150kg and the maximal weight that your rims support is 125kg. Do you think that it will be possible to chose it or it will be needed to taje something stronger ? Thank for your advice

LightBicycle 2018/09/15

Dear Guillaume, The weight limit is usually referred to the rider weight. If you are under 125kg, the wheelset would be ok for you. If you are doing aggressive riding or you want to reinforce the wheelset just in case. You can use round spokes and stronger hubs while building the wheelset. All in all, if you are lighter than 125kg and not doing very aggressive riding. 29er rims EN933 (enduro version) will be strong enough for you. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Eddie 2018/07/04

Hi if I place my order tomorrow how long till I received my rim? I will need it by Monday if next week. I'm going on a trip and need it asap. Please help. Do you ship from US? Thanks Eddie

LightBicycle 2018/07/05

Hi Eddie, Since you request the rims urgently to US. You should place the order from our North American site and make contact with our North American base colleague. But you should note that the US base only stock with the standard setup (UD, matte, 32H). Special orders are ordering to make. If your order is not UD matte 32H, normally it takes around 10 days to manufacture in China, and another 5~10 days for delivery. Thanks, Lightbicycle
