U shape 29er rim 30mm wide hookless MTB bike carbon rims tubeless compatible

A

Antonio 2019/12/07

Can this rims withstand 50-65 PSI for non tubeless tires?

LightBicycle 2019/12/09

Hi Antonio, Will you use tires with tubes on RM29C19 rims(30mm wide 29er bike rims)? And If you ride less than 65PSI, it should be okay for this rims. It is hookless design, so you will have to make sure that you ride less than 65PSI, to prevent from tires blowing off.Or you can go for RG922(AR28) rims. It is with hook design,  the max tire pressure is 130PSI. https://www.lightbicycle.com/29er-disc-bike-rims-29mm-wide-28mm-deep-clincher-for-cyclocross-and-gravel-bikes.html  Thanks, Lightbicycle

Dear Light Bicycle, is it possible to mount a 622x30mm tubeless road tyre to this rim (pressure 60psi)?

LightBicycle 2019/08/02

Hi Gabor, May I know the reason why you choose the MTB (XC/AM) rim over our gravel/road rims? I would recommend the AR28 (AKA RG922, 29mm wide, 28mm deep). It would be compatible with your tires. Our recommended tire width range is 23~50c. And, the tire pressure limit is 130psi because of the bead hook. So you can ride 60psi without any concern. Please check below link. https://www.lightbicycle.com/29er-disc-bike-rims-29mm-wide-28mm-deep-clincher-for-cyclocross-and-gravel-bikes.html Thanks, Lightbicycle

Do you make any 29/700 with 24H?

LightBicycle 2019/03/08

Hi Eric, Yes, the rim you are interested in RM29C19 (24mm wide) is available in 24H. You can choose the specs from the Buying Option section online and you will find "spoke count option". 24H is in the option already. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Alastair 2018/11/17

Hello there. I just wanted to know what the difference is between the XC924 and the XC925 rim. I am planning on building my own Wheelset. I see one is 24mm and one is 25 as the obvious differences and the 925 is assymetric. What is the difference between a symmetrical and assymetric rim? And will there be a noticeable QUANTIFIABLE difference in ride between a 24mm and 25mm rim? I currently ride 24mm wide on my American Classic MTB RACE 29. But with American classic closing parts availability is a concern and leaves me with no way of upgrading my current wheels to chimano XTR microspline. I am 65KG. Cross country racer in South Africa. So I often ride sections of the Epic route. I do feel I am quite an aggressive rider and don't mind pointing my Hardtail down sections that would make AM riders a bit squeamish. I plan on mating these wheels to a Trek Procaliber. If I use DT swiss's spoke calculator using the ERD you specify 28H XC924's should come out at around 1437g using 240S CL boost hubs with DY aerolite SPOKES. A tiny bit heavier if I use XTR M9110 hubs. XC925's in 28H but not flyweight (scared of breaking something if I go TOO light) come in at the same configuration as the above at around 1367g according to the DT calculations. Putting aero comps in the rear wheel puts it to 1407g. Now what would the difference be between the 924 and 925? Also should I build the rear as a 32H for a bit of extra durability or keep 28H but use stronger spokes for the rear like DT Aero Comp? I am trying to keep costs down though. Using the parts I've chosen the 924s woukd come in at around 11500 ZAR (820 USD) The 925s would be around 14000ZAR or bang on 1K USD +-. 925USD if I put aero comps on the rear wheel. So is there a significant difference between the 924 and 925? Also do you ship to South Africa?

LightBicycle 2018/11/20

Hi Alastair, XC925 29er rims belongs to our Recon Pro rims which use a completely new mold design and new manufacturing process that allows the rims to come out of the mold as a finished product (no sanding & painting needed). The rims come out from mold perfectly directly, without any defect to affect strength. The layers of carbon are not disturbed post-production which results in a stronger rim with a more scratch resistant finish. We use a new resin system with a lengthened fatigue life and superior consistency. The new recon pro rims are more durable and made in new dust-free production line. All of these improvements coupled with an updated asymmetric profile shape has allowed us to extend our standard warranty on these rims to 3 years with an upgrade option to 5 full years! Thanks, Lightbicycle

Avner 2018/09/11

Hi Can you make the hole for schrader valve?

LightBicycle 2018/09/12

Hi Avner, The rims are manufactured with presta valve hole by default, the valve hole size is 8mm upper/ 6.5mm lower. If you like schrader valve hole size, you can leave an message on the order. Then we can manufacture the valve hole size to be 8.5mm for both upper & lower. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Paul 2018/07/27

Hello! I'm building a set of wheels for a 29er hardtail. Front will have a 28H predictive hub for an RS1 fork. The rear will have a 32H Hope Pro Evo 2 hub. I'm 80kg and ride non-technical XC. I'm thinking the RM29C19 would be best? Thanks, Paul.

LightBicycle 2018/07/27

Hi Paul, We sent this 29er wheelset quotation to your email. Have you got it? May i know your weight and tire width? Then we can check whether this wheelset is the best for you. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Can you make these rim deeper around 40mm or more? Looking for a 29er or 700c rim that is about 24-25mm wide internal and 30-32mm external wide that is deep so I can use on my gravel bike. Thank you!

LightBicycle 2018/02/07

Hi John, Sorry to tell you that we don't have 29er or 700C rim with 40mm deep or deeper rims. But, we do have RG922 that specially designed for gravel. It's with asymmetric design. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Vern 2017/12/14

I am right at the weight limit of 120 kg. Can your rims be made for larger riders?

LightBicycle 2017/12/15

Hi Vern, We can add some carbon fiber to enhance the RM29C19 rim’s strength, with a heavier weight about 50g. We also have some wider rim like 34mm/35mm/38mm width for large riders. May I know what your riding terrain is normally? Do you ride aggressively? What the tire width you use? Then we will do some recommendations accordingly. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Eddie 2017/04/14

Can these rims be laced to industry nine staight pull spoke hubs? They have proprietary spokes that need a slightly larger hole drilled through the rim bed. What is the diameter of the hole drilled through the rim where the rim tape is applied?

LightBicycle 2017/04/14

Hello Eddie, Thanks for your support. Yes, our rims work with I9 hubs and spokes. Will you build the wheels by yourself or take it to your local bike shop for wheels building? Currently, The spoke hole on the rim bed is 8mm. Does that work for you? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Can we still get the old graphics on the rim?

LightBicycle 2017/03/27

Hello Mac, Thanks for your inquiry. Please find attached picture of our old graphics. Is that what you like? If so, it is available to do it on rims. Which color do you prefer? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Flo 2017/01/20

Hello, I'm a 65kg XC Racer. Which Rims would you recommend for me? Is it possiple to get a lighter example/version? I would use them in 29" and with Boost Hubs, do asymetrical Rims make sense with boost hubs? Thanks, Florian

LightBicycle 2017/01/21

Hello Florian, Thanks for your inquiry. According to your info, we’d like to recommend our 28mm wide 29er asymmetric light rims. It is designed for XC racing and strong enough for your riding. Also, the rim will work with the boost hubs. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Chuck 2017/01/14

Have a Giant mtn bike ,would love to up grade those rims.So if i buy these Rm29c19 will fit ?Do i just respoke these wheels with my hubs and spokes?

LightBicycle 2017/01/16

Hello Chuck, Thanks for your inquiry. For spokes, may I know your rim ERD? Then we will check if you can reuse your spokes. Normally, you need to get some new spokes, because the rim ERD is different, so the spoke length will be different. Our RM29C19 rim ERD is 589mm (not including nipple head dimension). Thanks, Lightbicycle

Tomek 2016/11/21

Hi, is the price quoted for RM29C19 $173 per one wheel or the set of two? Also, what would be estimated time from placing an order to delivery of just the rims versus fully built wheels? Thanks TS

Hello Tomek, Thanks for your inquiry. The RM29C19 rim is $170/pcs. The price is for single rim only. The delivery cost is $50 for two rims to USA by EMS. All pricing in USD. We have several UD matte 32H rims ready for ship and will ship within 2 business days. EMS delivery takes another 4-7 days to arrive. Thanks, Lightbicycle

I just ordered the RM29C19. Do you recommend a 12mm or 14mm nipple? Also is there a need to use nipple washers?

Light-Bicycle 2016/10/27

Hello Jay, Thanks for your inquiry. Normally, we use 14mm nipples. You can have a try. Also, all our wheelsets are built without washers. The spoke hole strength is strong enough for without washers. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Stu 2016/10/06

Hey there I'm looking to build new carbon wheels for my Santa Cruz Hightower and am looking Rm29c19 rims. I do about 50% trail and 50% all mountain. Would these rims be a good choice? I currently have a set on Nobl 36 29 wheels and love them but think they a a bit over kill as I'm only 160lbs... Thanks, Stu

Light-Bicycle 2016/10/08

Hello Stu, Sorry for the late reply. We were on National Day vacation during Oct 1st ~ 7th. According to your details, if you don’t ride aggressively, the 30mm wide 29er rim is strong enough for your riding. RM29C19 (30mm width): 395 /-15g, $170/pcs Thanks, Light-bicycle
