Our new generation of Flyweight XC rims are updated with a wider profile and a front/rear specific layup. They are targeted towards cross country racers who seek every possible edge on the course.

Our goal with this iteration was to produce the lightest possible rim-set without sacrificing performance or reliability. The ultralight front rim utilizes a blend of Toray T700 and T800 carbon fiber and receives our spoke hole patching treatment, which maximizes weight reduction. The rear rim uses a continuous spoke bed and a stiffer reinforced layup design to create a balanced feel between the front and rear wheels.

Now with a wider profile, increased resistance to impacts, as well as a tailored front/rear design, the XC725' build the ultimate XC race wheelset.

The specification states that flyweight rims can support up to 90kg. If the rider weight is ~70kg and the rest of the weight is stuff on the bike, will it be OK for the load?

Hi, I would like to purchase the XC725 in the flyweight (285 g) version. But first I wanted your opinion if the flyweight would be okay for me. Please let me know what you think. Here are the details -- 1. I weigh 70 kg 2. These wheels will go on a gravel bike that will have 650b X 50 mm tires. 3. I will not be "getting air" or will not be riding it "mountain style". But I will use them to descend really rocky gravel trails in the mountain of Colorado at high speeds. Thanks!

Dear Martin 1. 50c tires would be a litte narrower for rim XC725 650B rim, our recommendation tire range is 2.1"~2.4". 2. Your weight and riding style (gravel, no aggressive) is ok. 3. We do have one 650b road rim available, will you be interested? You can see the rim profile below. This looks like an ideal rim for my project, with one caveat: I use very supple 48mm tires from Compass Cycles. They recommend not running their tires on a hookless rim. Would it be possible to make a rim just like this with a hooked profile? I realize it's similar to RG722, but I'm looking for the asymmetric specific shape, the 25mm internal width, and lower height profile. Thank you!

Hi Sean, Are you looking for wider road disc rims? If you are not urgent, we will have new wider road disc rims in 2 months. The rims will be around 30~32mm outer width, the inner width will be around 23~25mm. The rim depth will be around 30mm~50mm. Thanks, Lightbicycle

We do have a 650b road rim with a wide profile. It's the RG722. You can check out the rim profile from the attachment As you can see, it's with 29mm wide, 36mm deep. A wonderful suit for your requirements. But the downside is that we now only offer hook version. The rim was designed for gravel riding. Thanks, Lightbicycle
