Tubeless Tire Pressure Charts

Having the right tire pressure is a critical ingredient to having your wheels perform at their best. If you change to wider rims or wider tires, your tire pressure must be lowered. The below charts take this into account and help guide you to an appropriate starting point, and then you can adjust up or down slightly to suit your needs.

Rider weight, experience level, terrain, riding style, and the current trail conditions will all affect the tire pressure. Once you find your best all-around pressure, you’ll be able to lower it slightly for wet conditions, or increase it slightly for fast hard packed conditions like at a bike park for example.

We’ve divided our rims into three categories based on their most common use.

1. Smooth Roads

2. Gravel/Rough Roads

3. Mountain Biking/Plus/Fat

(75psi for hookless)
AR28/AR36 650b: 110psi
AR24: 50psi (hookless-only)
WR-rims: 80psi (55psi for hookless)

The maximum inflation pressure for AR-rims (except AR24) is measured with 25mm tubeless tires mounted. The inflation limit of WR-rims is measured with 28mm tubeless setup.

If the recommended tire pressure is near or over the max pressure, it is suggested to move up in tire volume.

Max Pressure MTB rims: 40psi Plus rims: 35psi Fat rims: 25psi
Take These Factors Into Account

1. All the calculations of pressures are based on tubeless installation, given rider weight, average bike weight, specific inner rim width, and standard tire casing. Enduro/DH casing tires can run slightly lower pressure.

2. The tire sizes and rider weights listed are based on our customer profiles and common riding habits. If the charts don’t apply to you, please leave a comment or contact us for psi recommendations.

3. Never over-inflate. If the tire does not seat at a modest pressure, just deflate it and troubleshoot the problems. DO NOT exceed the MAX pressures we set.

4. If the recommended pressure is out of tolerance (minimum or maximum) with the tire manufacturer, then you may need to change the tire size to better suit the rim.

5. Check your tire pressure before you ride as they lose air over time.

How can I determine the model of my carbon rim? Thanks MIKE

LightBicycle 2021/12/18

Hi Mike, You can leave the rim model aside and focus on the internal width of your rims. If you don't know, just simply remove the tire and measure it by hand. Some bike rim manufacturers don't have it marked on the rims. Note, the chart is easier to browse on PC. Thanks, Lightbicycle
