To my surprise, these wheels were as good as advertised.
These rims were a pleasant surprise. I will start off by saying that I got these rims with another set (WR45 Disc) to try out as Light Bicycles was new to me. To my surprise, they were as good as advertised. The weight was about 10g lower than advertised which was awesome. I did have these wheels built at my local shop as I was not certain about fat bike hubs on a 29er rim. I am not sure if that’s an option at this point, but I know Light Bicycle is so willing to accommodate a build that a simple email could make this happen.
Upon receiving my wheels back from being built, I threw on a pair of tires without sealant to test the rim quality and see if there were any gaps where air would escape which could indicate poor quality. These tires held air without issues for 3 days without sealant.

The wheels served me well and I decided to keep them when I sold my first fat bike.
Threw them on my bike and off I went. I explored a bit in my area and decided to do it all on these wheels, and they served me well, so much so that I decided to keep them when I sold my first fat bike in order to buy a new one. I kept the wheels for the new fat bike and they were just as impressive and robust after years of riding. They have been well loved and cared for, but regardless of terrain, the ride quality was never compromised, with big chunky rock sections, smooth sandy beaches, and singletrack in the woods. These rims just keep going. I would recommend the AM933 to anyone who’s looking for an affordable 29er rim. The value of quality is beyond anything else I have been able to find, even from other reputable companies. I’m excited to continue to ride these wheels and take them on more adventures. They have been rebuilt for fat bike riding, bike packing, and exploring.
Though I have not done any racing on the wheels, I have done many faster rides. I do not see these wheels as a problem to do any racing on them. They have been a trustworthy option for just about any build: tire fitting has been seamless and smooth, and the internal width has given the tires a nice profile. I would trust these rims to take on anything else I’d like to throw at them.
I hope Light Bicycle keeps these and all future value to quality wheels like this one as I don’t see a reason to search elsewhere, not to mention riding quality has been much improved and comfort has increased greatly!
