Arnold : I ordered this light bicycles wheels from you late last year and received it beginning of the year for my new built. 24 Specialized Aethos with a target of reaching 13 lbs. With your help the new wheels I was under the weight. Riding the new wheels the bike rides excellent, light, stiff, and very responsive. I really appreciate the details of the pictures you sent after the wheels were built. Customer service was great in letting me know what stages my wheels were at during the process. Also asking me if I had any concerns before shipping. Buying wheels from Light Bicycle is the BEST experience ever. I’m looking forward on my next build with the new Turbo 50. Thank you, Arnold

Peter : I purchased AR 25 wheels with LB carbon spokes and LB hubs after doing a fair amount of research online, including on Reddit and Hambini. Other Chinese manufacturers, such as Lun, were much heavier at the same price point. I have had mixed luck with US/European manufacturers. The Zipp wheels I had were so flexy that they rubbed the rim brakes on my recumbent. I replaced those with Hunt wheels with carbon spokes and was very happy as they were stiff, light (1200gms), and held up nicely. But finding myself in Thailand with a road bike, Hunt was less of an option due to import duties. I chose LB AR25 wheels because of their incredible weight (950gms for my set before rim tape), their internal width (24mm), and the stiff carbon spokes. I ride mostly in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where some roads can be rough and all hills are steep. It is not uncommon to encounter 20% gradients, and every gram makes a difference when trying to keep up with stronger buddies. Aerodynamics are not a concern for me as I'm strong on flats, but the 28mm external width was a plus as I ride with 28mm tires and there is not much of a step off between the tire and the rim surface. The 24mm internal width and shallow profile means that the tire rides like a 30mm tire. It is very cushy at 50 PSI (tubeless) and rides amazingly well. The wheels are very stiff despite their shallow depth. So far, I'm very, very pleased with them. A big plus for LB is the customer service. Edwin went and personally checked on my order when there was a delay. He wrote back very quickly and just overall provided outstanding customer service. Customer service is important when you need it, and I needed it because UPS shipped my wheels (literally) around the world before they reached me. They first went to Hong Kong, then to the west coast of the US, Kentucky, and then to Germany before making their way to Thailand. In the process, the box was badly crushed and the rim was scratched. Edwin responded within minutes and we ran through a troubleshoot to make sure that they were safe to ride. If there were anything that I would change, I would recommend that LB work on the boxing. It was just wheels, a box, and a few pieces of very thin foam taped on the side of the hub. Shipping was about 6 weeks to Thailand, but Edwin was attentive. The wheels are so crazy light that I was worried that they might be fragile, but they have done well. I have only put 450km on the wheels so far, but they are fast, light, and very comfortable. Everything I hoped for. If I had to do it again, I would buy these wheels again without hesitation. They are replacing Ultegra C36 wheels, which are less stiff and heavier. Aesthetically, I really like the fact that they are plain carbon with no decals. They look great on the bike!

Nick : For my lightweight Crux build I wanted the lightest wheels that were still capable of being ridden hard in harsh conditions. The AR25 ticked those boxes on the Rims side and I paired them with the trusty DT Swiss 180 EXP Hubs. The wheelset (with Sapim CX Ray and Sprint Spokes) came in at just 1074g. I raced the 2024 Edition of the Traka 360 on this Wheelset and they handled the rough course flawlessly.

James : This is GREAT news. Compared to the Elves Orome Valar wheelset, the LB wheelset is 1mm wider, 6mm deeper & weighs about 100g less! This project will be a Black Friday build so I will save this conversation for future reference. I love Light Bicycle. I am a customer for life.

I have a set of DT Swiss RR22 Dicut Disc Brake Wheel Set. Great pair of wheels but outdated rimvise. Rims are 18mm inner , to narrow for everything above 25mm. Is it posible to replace rims for Falcon Pro AR25 rims while keeping hubs and spokes? I guess new nipples are in order?

LightBicycle 2024/10/09

Hi Sir, What is the ERD of the DT Swiss RR22 Dicut rim? If the ERDs are close or the same then the spoke lengths are the same. For nipples, it is better to use new ones. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hello, I am looking to buy these rims (Falcon Pro RIM AR25 disc) and build them myself. Can you please tell me what is the spoke length I need for Sapim CX-Ray for 24/24 2x cross for Chris King R45D hubs?

LightBicycle 2024/09/23

Hi Chris, Thanks for reaching out. The spoke length of the AR25 wheelset 700C disc with Chris King R45D hubs (J-bend, 24H, center lock) and 14mm nipples is as below for your reference. It is 2 cross for the front and rear wheel. The front wheel drive side: 283mm non drive side: 281mm The rear wheel drive side: 281mm non drive side: 283mm Thanks, Lightbicycle

I am interested in using Ar25 for my road bike to make I a light weight climbing wheel set. . I am on Enve ar3.4 and I like the wide inside dimension, but want a shorter side wall because of cross winds on the mountain I climb several times a week. Do you think these are the best rim for this application? Thanks

LightBicycle 2023/07/26

Hi Mike, Nice to see you :D The AR25 is with an Inner/Outer Width: 24mm/29.2mm, Depth 25mm. It's intended for Gravel use and with super lightweight (250g+/-15 only) and has the proper compliance to absorb the shocks from the gnarly ground. Nimbleness and stability, you can eat your cake and have it. Best regards Light Bicycle

Andi 2023/07/25

Hi It says max tires pressure for 28 mm is 70 psi. Is that for tubeless setup or clincher setup? Or what is the max tires pressure if I'm using inner tubes? Thank you

LightBicycle 2023/07/25

Hi Andi, If you are planning on running with tubes. What would be the tire size? 28C? Usually, the difference is small. So you can take 70psi as a max reference. Thanks, Lightbicycle

David 2023/07/08

Hello! On this rim (AR25 / road) is it possible to apply the option "No Access Holes"? Will I be able to fit in 12/14mm sapim nipples? How realistic/possible is a custom(?) 32 hole order? Regards from Berlin, David

LightBicycle 2023/07/10

Hi David Linden, Good day! Thanks for reaching out! I read your message on our website. Here are the answers: 1. Yes, we could apply the AR25 rim 'No access holes'. 2. Yes, if you want to build 'No access hole' AR25 wheels, you could build them with 12/14mm Sapim nipples. 3. We could customize 32 holes on the rims. Best regards, Light Bicycle

Paweł 2023/04/04

Hi, do you think AR25 will be OK for 100-105kg rider+bike combined (gravel bikepacking), or should I order a strenghtened version?

LightBicycle 2023/04/04

Hi Pawel, Our recommended rider weight is 90kg. A reinforced version would be more suitable if 100~105kg rider+bike combined. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Eric 2023/02/06

Is it possible to buy this rim with 32 holes and a glossy finish? Would this customizations affect the weight of the rim? Thanks!

LightBicycle 2023/02/07

Hi Eric, Yes, we can drill the AR25 super light 700C disc rim with 32 holes for you. Can you tell me your hub specs so we can confirm if you need special drilling angles? Glossy is a paint finish. AR25 rims came out of the mold as a finished product, so no paint is applied by default. Please confirm if you want to add extra glossy paint to the rim. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Łukasz 2022/10/17

Hi! Do you offer AR25 rims without access holes or with carbon spokes? I can’t see those options being available in the configurator. Thanks, Łukasz

LightBicycle 2022/10/17

Hi Lukasz, 1. If you want carbon spokes, the lead time would be 2 months. And it cannot be build without access holes because the nipples are inside of the rim chamber. 2. You can have AR25 700C DISC without access holes. I will send you the order via email when you confirm the specs you want. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Wes 2022/10/14

Does the max weight include the bicycle and gear or just the rider? I weight about 72kg and my bike and gear weigh about 15kg, which would put me very close to the 90kg limit for the AR25 rims. Thanks

LightBicycle 2022/10/15

Hi Wes, The max weight 90KG is for rider weight only. Do you ride aggressively? gravel or road disc bike? Then we can check whether AR25 700C good for you or not. Thanks, Lightbicycle
