  • Manufacturing process
Our air bladders are made from a special material which produces smoother walls, result in a lighter rim, and are completely removed without harsh chemicals. They are removed through the valve hole with a unique process so that the rim does not have to be patched like traditional manufacturers use. This significantly improves the strength of the rims. Read More about our process here
  • Hand-Built
Each wheelset is painstakingly built by hand to tension within 5% variance. Each spoke's tension rating is recorded in our system, as is the roundness and lateral tolerance.
  • Precise layup
Each rim carries its own layup schedule documents which are followed meticulously by the layup workers. Our Engineering team creates a unique fiber orientation which amplifies the desired riding characteristics for a given rim.
  • Angled Holes
Angled spoke holes allows the nipple to pull straight in line with the spoke for reduced stress. This results in fewer broken spokes and nipples.
  • Tubeless
While the rims are optimized for a tubeless setup with the addition of tubeless tape, they also work with tubes.
  • T700
Constructed with premium Toray T700 carbon fiber. The best strength to weight ratio with no expense spared.

Hi Is wheelset 26c02 hookless and as strong as 26c03 ? Thank you
Light-Bicycle : (2016-05-20)
Hello Steve, Thanks for your inquiry. Currently, the 26C02 is hook version. The hookless 26C03 wheels is stronger than 26C02. Hookless is more durable. I suggest you to choose the 26C03. It is hookless design, the rim wall will be stronger. And it is also wider and deeper for RM26C03 rim. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Hi, For wheelset w/ 26co3 i would like to use dt 240 hubs. Does the centerlock 240 come in j bend or straight pull , and either with 28 or 32 option? Is the straight pull any harder to true if necessary?
Light-Bicycle : (2016-09-23)
Hello Steve, Thanks for your inquiry. Below are the hubs we stock now. What hubs axle size do you like for front & rear? -DT 240S J-bend center lock hubs, 32H -DT 240S straight pull center lock hubs, 28H Straight pull refers to spokes with no bend at the head. It allows for an ideal strength to weight ratio when compared to J-bend spokes. However, if you use bladed spoke which is more flexible, both J-bend and straight pull hubs are easy to true. It depends on spoke. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Hi, I am interested in the 33mm wide 26inch carbon wheelset. I'm looking at the following specification: Glossy 12K No decal 32H Pillar Aero Blue Shimano Freehub (black) Regarding the hubs, I'd like the Novatec DH61 20mm front hub but paired with a D882SB QR axle, is this possible as it is not listed as a selection. Thanks
Light-Bicycle : (2015-08-07)
Hello Tom, Thanks for your inquiry. We can build the 26er wheelset as following specs. -Rims: Hookless 33mm width 26er, 12k glossy, 32H, no decals. Do you prefer AM version (375 /-15g) or DH version (440 /-15g)? DH version is much stronger with extra carbon fiber. Please find attached rim profile. -Hubs: Black, Novatec DH61-20mm thru axle/ D882-135mm QR for Shimano 8/9/10. -Spokes: Black, DT competition spokes -Nipples: Blue, alloy Pillar PT 734 Thanks, Light-bicycle

Can you lace these rims up to a Lefty hub? I have a Cannondale scalpel with a lefty fork.
Light-Bicycle : (2015-07-15)
Hello Ralph, Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, we can build the 26er wheels with Lefty hub. We have black Project 321 lefty hub & Circus monkey lefty hub for Cannondale. For rear hub, Novatec & Hope hubs are available. Which do you prefer for front & rear? Then we will quote accordingly. For rims, it is 30mm wide 26er rim with hook (360 /-15g). We’d like to recommend the hookless 33mm wide 26er rim (375 /-15g). Hookless is more durable. Do you like it? Please find attached rims profiles. For rim weave, do you prefer 3k, 12k or UD? Matte or glossy? 32H? For spokes & nipples, it is black Pillar Aero X-TRA 1420 spoke & Pillar PT 734 nipple (black/blue/gold/green/red/silver). Thanks, Light-bicycle

Hi, which rim would you recommend for trail and light AM riding, 85kg rider weight. Is the RM26C02 strong enough or is the RM26C03 better? Can the wheels be built with DT Swiss or Sapim spokes (e.g. D-Lite)? Pillar spokes are a bit hard to come by as a replacement hereabouts. Finally, do you have access to Hope Straight Pull hubs? Thanks.
Light-Bicycle : (2015-06-29)
Hello Jan, Thanks for your inquiry. According to your details, we’d like to recommend the 33mm or 38mm width 26er AM rims. It is much wider and stronger. The 26C02 30mm width rim is for XC riding. RM26C03 (33mm wide 26er AM rim): 375 /-15g RM26C05 (38mm wide 26er AM rim): 420 /-15g Please find attached rims profiles. Do you like 3k, 12k or UD for rim weave? Matte or glossy? For hubs, we only have Hope pro2 evo J-bend 6-bolt hubs, no Hope straight pull hubs. But DT Swiss 240S straight pull hubs are available. Is that ok for you? Do you like QR or thru axle for front & rear? For spokes & nipples, we can build it with DT Swiss competition spokes or Sapim spoke. Which do you prefer? Sapim spokes need extra cost. Thanks, Light-bicycle

I have 3 questions. Do you have pictures of your different rim weaves, 3k, 12k, UD? Matte or glossy? 32H? I don;t know which to pick because I don;t know what they look like. Do you have colored spokes? Should I get the 30mm or the 38mm wheelset for my 26" trail bike?
Light-Bicycle : (2015-06-29)
Hello Nic, Thanks for your inquiry. Please find attached pictures of the rim weave. For 3k/12k/UD, it is the outer carbon fiber layer to make the carbon fiber with different outlook, and all the inside carbon fiber are the same. So, the rim strength & weight is almost the same. 3k matte &UD matte are more popular. For spoke, only black color is available. Is that ok for you? But we have Pillar Pt 734 nipples in black/blue/gold/green/red/silver. Which color do you prefer? We’d like to recommend the 38mm wide 26er wheels for AM riding. It is much wider and stronger. If you like, we can build it as following specs. -Rims: Hookless 38mm width AM rims, 420 /-15g. Attached is the rim profile. -Hubs: We have Novatec & Hope hubs. Which do you prefer? Do you like QR or thru axle for front & rear? -Spokes: Black, Pillar x-tra 1420 aero -Nipples: Pillar PT 734 Thanks, Light-bicycle

I am interested in a AM 26" wheel set that is strong. Do you still offer the 33mm wide rim? Is there a real difference in strength between UD, 3k, 12k weave. I prefer the UD. I would like the Hope hubs 15mm & 12x142 in black. How much for the complete wheel set? Cheers Josh
