Non Disc

Non-disc: Our new resin system and construction method, combined with the 3k rim track, withstands over 280°C, dissipates heat, and lowers rim temperatures faster in between braking efforts. Gain confidence-inspiring brake performance on the steepest descents and wettest conditions with our matching brake pads. Also, graphene added to the rim brake track allows for greater resistance to overheating with improved heat dissipation and reduced temperature accumulation during heavy braking. The grooved track helps evacuate trapped moisture between pad and rim in wet conditions, and brings more resistance and force at the lever when conditions are dry.

Disc: The disc version does not have a rim brake track and features a unique disc specific layup process. Our new layup is about 10g ~30g lighter by reducing the unnecessary material and utilizing elements of our Flyweight construction method.

Our widest road rim yet, the new 30mm external and 23mm internal width 56mm deep disc road bike wheels provide the perfect platform for anything from a 28C to 50C road, gravel, or cyclocross tire. Available as both a road disc rim and rim brake specific wheel, this incredibly stiff and aerodynamic 56mm carbon clincher is just as at home on your road race bike as it is on your gravel rig. Whether you're sprinting for primes or tackling a 200 mile gravel epic, the versatile RR56C02 are the deep road bike wheels that are up for the challenge.

High TG: Our new resin system and construction method, combined with the 3k rim track, withstands over 280°C, dissipates heat, and lowers rim temperatures faster in between braking efforts. Gain confidence-inspiring brake performance on the steepest descents and wettest conditions with our matching brake pads.

Graphene Brake Track : Graphene added to the rim brake track allows for greater resistance to overheating with improved heat dissipation and reduced temperature accumulation during heavy braking. The grooved track helps evacuate trapped moisture between pad and rim in the wet, and brings more resistance when conditions are dry so less force at the lever is required.

AeroTek: Our latest aerodynamic profile decreases lateral wind resistance and is both more stable and faster in a crosswind. A wider profile allows for larger and more efficient tires to be used without an aerodynamic penalty. Traditionally a tire can form a lightbulb shape when mounted on a narrow rim, but the airflow is much smoother with our wider rims.

DuoTek: Our clincher rims are manufactured in two pieces and then joined together. When designing the rims, our engineers, in every detail, demanded fewer joints. Fewer joints mean higher strength and stability.

TuffTek: A high-grade customized epoxy resin is used in our prepreg, creating a stable base for all of our road rims. Epoxy is less brittle than polyester resins and offers excellent flexural strength. Our consistent resin system, coupled with a precise layup schedule, allows for an extremely reliable and durable product.

Tubeless : All of our rims are tubeless compatible with bead seat retention. In most cases a floor pump is all that is needed to seal our rims. The bead shape is tailored to each rim width to achieve the best fit. Our hookless and clincher profiles have a smooth radius to reduce the chance of a pinch flat.

T700: Constructed with premium Toray T700 carbon fiber. The best strength to weight ratio with no expense spared.

For Non-Pro Series Rims: From the date of purchase, 15 Months Warranty
For Pro Series Rims: From the date of purchase, 3 Years Warranty. Light Bicycle is pleased to offer the options to purchase an extended 5-year Premium warranty or lifetime Premium warranty with minimum charge respectively.

Crash Replacement: It is applicable with the same period as to warranty time range that you purchased for the rim in terms of 15-month/ 3-year/ 5-year/ Lifetime, with 10%+ discount subject to rim model.

Hi, I am looking for a wheel with this exact profile, but in a U shape. Are you planning to offer it in the near future? Thanks

LightBicycle 2018/09/28

Hi Olivier, According to our lab testing result, RR56C02(30mm wide, 56mm deep gravel rim) will be at it's the best performance with V-shape. So we won't publish the U-shape version of this model. We can discuss more by mail. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Philip 2018/09/21

I would like to use these wheels for touring, as well as commuting and club rides. When I'm fully packed for touring, the weight of rider + luggage + bike is around 125 kg. My frame is compatible with has 12 mm thru axles. Would 28 spokes be enough, or would you suggest going to 32? As an option, would it be possible to combine a a Shutter Precision PL-8X-M 12x100mm front dynamo hub (32 J bend spokes), with a rear DT SWISS 350 hub (with 32 J bend spokes)? Thanks in advance

LightBicycle 2018/09/25

Dear Philip Sorry for the late reply, our office was closed for three days because of our public vacation last week. 1. The max weight limit for the RR56C02 (30mm wide, 56mm deep) gravel rim. So it would be ok for you when you all packed up. Since you are riding touring, I imagine that you won't ride aggressively. So 28H would be ok. The rim is very deep so it would be strong enough. But if you want to reinforce the wheelset, 32H will be better. 2. Yes, we do build SP dynamo hub on wheels for our customers before. The PL-8X-M, 32H, 12/100mm is available. 3. About the rear hub, We do have 32H DT Swiss 350 hub available. Do you want center lock or 6-bolt? Please check out your inbox to see my detailed quote and discuss more. Thanks Lightbicycle

Warwick 2018/09/03

Hi LB, Could you please send me the cross section drawing for this rim WR56C02 please? Also what other hubs do you stock to build with, do you still have industry nine or Chris king available?

LightBicycle 2018/09/04

Hi Warwick, Attaching with the rim profile as you requested. Yes, Industry Nine and Chris King hubs are available offline. Could you be more specific about what you want so I can check if it's possible to purchase from our supplier? We also have Tune hubs, Onyx racing hubs available. Will you be interested? Then we can get the WR56C02 road disc wheelset price accordingly for your check. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Tom 2018/08/22

Hi, I think this has been asked above; but will you make 28mm / 30mm outer width wheels (23mm inner width) with 56mm depth? I am looking for a wheel with this exact profile, but in a U shape. Thanks, Tom

LightBicycle 2018/08/23

Hi Tom, If it is 23mm inner width, the rim outer width will be around 30mm. 28mm outer width will make the rim wall thickness thin and the rim is weaker. If you like 28mm outer width, the inner width will be smaller than 23mm. We have 28mm wide 46mm deep rim. Is it okay for you? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Sandy 2018/08/13

Hi, are there any plans to make a U-shaped version of this rim?

LightBicycle 2018/08/14

Hi Sandy, For Deep wider U shape gravel rims, they will be ready around October. It is around 30mm~32mm wide. Is it okay? Thanks, Lightbicycle

K

Kael 2018/10/03

Hi LightBicycle, Can you please provide more details/specs regarding the U shape gravel rims you mentioned above? Will they basically be a more blunt ~32mm external width version of the RR56c02? How deep will they be? And how wide both internally and externally? A disc brake rim approximately 32mm external/24mm internal width and anywhere from 50-65mm deep is exactly what I'm looking for (for road use). Regards, Kael (possible returning customer).

LightBicycle 2018/10/08

Hi Kael, 1. The benefits of U shape rims are: adding stiffness, due to a slight widening of the rim, and better braking, with a slightly angled brake track, not grew much in weight. And they are light, fast. when hitting a few windy sections, it could not feel a thing in the crosswinds. 2. Our new gravel wheels are with 30mm outer/ 23mm inner width, and they are designed for wider tires. May I know why you prefer a 24 internal width and 50-65 depth? Is there any advantage for wider gravel wheel? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Karel 2018/07/27

I'm looking for a light rim for my gravel bike, I'd like to go 650B (27.5") so that I can mount wider tires (48mm or 50mm). The bike has disk brakes. The 27.5" rim you offer has a max tire pressure of 40 psi only which is a bit low. To my surprise, the above presented wheel, that also allows mounting 50mm tires, is good for a tire pressure of 160 psi ?? I don't understand

LightBicycle 2018/07/28

Hi Karel, I realized that you are looking for a wide, gravel, 27.5" rim for your bike. But currently, we only have one 27.5 gravel rim. It's RG722 (22.4mm inner/29mm outer width, 36mm deep. Is it okay for you. It is okay to hold 160psi for this hook rim. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Bart 2018/07/24

Hello, I'm a bit confused regarding V or U-shaped wheels. I read that U-shaped wheels are aerodynamically better to handle crosswinds. And I like rinding a wider tyre, Conti's GP4000 28mm for example, that are effectively 30mm wide, so I would think these 30mm wheels would suit that perfectly. My only hesitation is why these aren't U-shaped wheels? Do you advice these or another wheelset to accommodate those 30mm tyres for a road bike? Thanks in advance, Bart.

LightBicycle 2018/07/24

Hi Bart, Do you ride disc or non disc? Then we can check which road wheelset is better for you. Thanks, Lightbicycle

B

Bart 2018/07/24

Thank you for the quick response! I'm looking for a road disc wheelset that perfectly fits a Continental GP4000SII 700x28c (30mm actual width). Since these WR56C02 wheels are 30mm wide, the tyre would sit flush with the rim, which is a good thing I think. However, if an U-shape is aerodynamically better suited, then I don't know what's best, since there are no 30mm wide U-shaped wheels on offering, right? Or maybe I'm focussing too much on the V-shape versus U-shape thing, I really don't know. Any advice is welcome! Kind regards, Bart.

LightBicycle 2018/07/25

Hi Bart, For U shape and V shape different, it depends on your living area also. Is it windy a lot there? The U-Shaped profile also decreases lateral wind resistance and is both more stable and faster in a crosswind than a traditional V-Shaped wheel. If there is no side wind area, V shape will be faster than U shape. For RR56C02 rims are 30mm wide, they have better tire mounting on your 28C tire. The V shape will not afftec tire sitting at all. The rim width will affect tire suiting, but the rim shape will not. Thanks, Lightbicycle
