Paintless: The "Finish" relates to how the rim is coated or painted such as matte or glossy for the most common applications. Our Recon Pro and Falcon Pro rims feature BlackTek and come out of molds as a completed product, with a scratch resistant and near flawless finish, eliminating the need for coating or painting. We name this kind of superior finish the paintless.

Crystal Painting: A fantastic painting effect designed by Light Bicycle.

Full Custom: This option offers custom finish such as Satin/Raw etc at no extra charge but subject to rim models with 3~5 days LONGER on manufacture. And custom color painting is also available with added 15g/rim and extra $20USD/rim as a start. Drain Hole This is a required option.

The two small drain holes located 90° to the valve hole effectively help evacuate both the water trapped inside the rim and the air leaking into the rim chamber caused by nonperfect tubeless tape sealing handwork that may risk rim explosure in an aggressive tire inflating.

It is the small reinforced layer prelaminated on the area where the drain hole is drilled later that makes the rim strength fairly ensured without any compromise of weight added.

Riders who ride in wet areas are suggested to order rims with drain holes.

Center Channel Hole & Nipple Hole This is a required option.

Center Channel Hole options:
1) With Access Holes: This is the traditional method. Spoke access holes are drilled in the center channel to allow the nipples to easily be fed through the rim. Tubeless tape is required to seal the rim.
2) No Access Holes: No spoke access holes are drilled in the center channel. Feeding the nipples through the rim is more challenging, but it allows for a tubeless setup without the need for tape. This kind of system is known as "road tubeless" or referred as 'UST style'. Currently, rims with 'No Access Holes' do not work with our carbon spokes.

Nipple Hole options:
1) External Nipple Hole is the commentional way drilled for external nipples and is the default standard for Light Bicycle rims.
2) Internal Nipple Hole is drilled for internal nipples('upside down/ hidden style'). This is optional for some Light Bicycle rims.

1. Grey Laser Engraving (Falcon Pro) - Our laser engraving technology is eco-friendly and adds a snappy, polished aesthetic to your new rims.
Please note: Contrary to rims with any coated/painted finishes (matte, glossy and satin) as well as Crystal Painting, laser engraving could work with paintless rims only.

2. Full Custom - Add some additional personalization and go full custom with your rim graphics! Laser engraving is available in one colour (light grey) and starts at $5 USD per rim. If you select this option, LEAVE YOUR REQUEST IN QUOTES IN THE NOTES AT CHECKOUT. For example: "I need my personalized logo printed" or "Just text 'ABC racing' ". We will reach out to you once the order is placed to finalize the details of custom graphics.

Valve Stem This is a required option.

We use a lightweight black alloy anodized valves with an oversized concave collar for easy gripping. A rubber o-ring goes in between the rim and the collar to help seal the rim and match the contour of the rim profile. The valve core is removable so you can add sealant without removing your tire.

Apply Tubeless Tape: In Light Bicycle, a proprietary taping aid works with our wheel builders to guarantee that a solid taping craft at industrial-level is well implemented in order for you to ride carefree tubeless at any conditions.

Can these rims handle 700x47c tires? I have spare Teravail Canonballs I'd like to use just to save on buying new tires.

Hi Paul, Thanks for reaching out! 47c would be too wide for a 21mm internal rim like AR45. Our recommendation is up to 43c tires. The wheel won't perform as good if you put on a super wide tire. However, will you consider a wider rim? A 25mm internal rim would be ok to use the 47c tire you have. If the 45mm is your preferred depth, WR45and WR40 model wide gravel would be the go to rim. If you prefer a pro rim.
