Hello What is the weight of the AR46 built with dt swiss 240 hubs. Rim brake with 28 Spokes rear and 24 spoke in front.?

LightBicycle 2020/07/08

Hi Stephen, 1. Currently, we only have DT non-disc hubs (rim brake) in 20H (F) and 24H (R) for rim brake 700C wheelset. 2. DT 240s hubs are in the process of transition, from the old version to the EXP version. DT stop producing old version 240S hubs for quite a while now. The current inventory status of DT 240s old version hubs is that we have one last pair in stock. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hello. I am looking to upgrade the wheel set on a 2012 Colnago EPS with either the Falcon 36 or 46mm wheels; however, I don't think the wheels will fit the bike. Are you able to make a wheel with a 19mm internal width? Also, are you able to do a 36 front and a 46 rear? Thanks.

LightBicycle 2020/06/22

Hi Brian, Is it your bike wide enough for 28mm wheelset? Will our 17.9mm internal rims work for you? We do have 35mm and 45mm deep if you like. Yes, we can make a mixed depth wheelset combo for you if you want. It is front 35mm/rear 45mm. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hello, I am looking to have a set of wheels built. I would like a set of Falcon Pro AR35 rims (standard weight) laced to a set of Novatec D411CB-CL-B12 / D412CB-CL-B12 boost centerlock hubset. The hub dimensions are 12x110mm (Road Boost) front hub and 12x148mm (Boost) rear hub. I need a SRAM XD driver, however (not a XDR driver). I would like the rims and hubs laced with Sapim CX-Ray spokes (black with black alloy nipples). If you can build wheels with these hubs, how much would the final price be, shipped to Brea, California 92821? I would also like to know if you can substitute the DT Swiss 350 hubset as well. Similarly, I would need a 12x110 DT Swiss front hub (DT Swiss Part # H350BCDXR24SA3207S). If so, how much would the final cost be? I understand you do not have those hubs listed as options, but I thought I would ask to see if you can get them. If not, I can get the hubs separately, and would likely just buy the rims. The bike the wheels would be installed on is a 2020 Specialized Creo SL Expert EVO. The hub standard is not typical, as it runs a 12x110 front hub and a 12x148 rear hub. Thank you, Al

LightBicycle 2020/06/17

I'm looking to purchase a wheelset for my Cannondale Scalpel-Si. How do I order the rear wheel with the Cannondal Ai rear offset dish? Thanks, Mike

LightBicycle 2020/06/17

Hi Mike, I will assist with you since the Cannondale asymmetric frame is rather an uncommon build. It would be safer to confirm the details by email. We will build the wheels with a 6mm dish so the drivetrain can move 6mm to the right. We normally suggest using symmetrical rim for the AI frame. What configurations you have in mind at the moment? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi Daniel, The cost for R45 (25mm wide, 45mm deep) 700C rim brake wheelset would be USD671.2/pair, built with DT 350 hubs, Sapim CX-Ray spokes. Our max rider weight limit for the rim is 135kg. So your weight would be ok. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Todd 2020/04/28

Hi guys, Do you have any options I am not seeing for rim brake bikes? I was wondering if you can do the feather light treatment to the AR46 (looking at the heavier DT 350 hubs). Is there a discount for buying two sets of wheels? I noticed the reduced shipping for this month. Also I live nearby in Taiwan. Who do you recommend for shipping and how long should it take to Taipei? thanks!

LightBicycle 2020/04/28

Hi Todd, 1. Yes, we can make a lighter version of the AR46 (21mm internal, 28mm outer width, 46mm depth) 28mm wide road disc rims. Could you descript more about your riding? What's your weight? Are you planning on gravel riding or all-road? Are you chasing aero performance? Have you checked out our newly released AR45 (same internal/outer width, 45mm depth)? The flyweight version is only 380g+/-15. The cross-section is more round than the AR46 rims. 2. Yes, we do ship to Taiwan. We can quote you through email. Thanks, Lightbicycle

I think this would be the best option for you. Europe tax is high. If you choose TPD delivery, you will not have to deal with customs. 3. Would you be more specific about the carbon bicycle wheelset that you are interested in purchasing so I can create the order for you? Or you haven't decided what you want? Hi Michael, Since you will do some climbing, I think our AR36 road disc 700C (21mm internal/28mm outer width, 36mm depth, 410g+/-15 each) would be a good option for you. Do you run a disc or non-disc bike for the job? We offer both hook and hookless version for AR36, if you normally run under 60psi, you can go with the hookless. Otherwise, the hook version would be a better choice. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Could you explain the difference between the 700C-FALCON-wheelset Wheelset AR56-30mm wide-56mm deep and 700C-FALCON-wheelset Wheelset R55-25mm wide-55mm deep? I ride a road bike and tri bike and working towards Ironman. I've been using alloy wheels for both bikes but want to make the change to carbon. Appreciate your advice. Thanks.

LightBicycle 2020/04/02

Hi Derek, The AR56 (23mm internal, 30mm outer width, 56mm depth) was designed for gravel riding with good aero performance. It's tested by Hambini team earlier, you can read more about the aerodynamic performance of AR56 at https://www.hambini.com/blog/post/bicycle-wheel-aerodynamics-which-one-is-fastest/ The R55 (17.9mm internal, 25mm outer width, 55mm depth) 700C rim is with a rounded section shape and narrower width that better for road riding. What would be the tire width are you planning on running? I think AR56 would be a better choice if you are after aero. However, if weight is more important for you, we do have a WR50 that only weights only 410+/-15. But the rim is very wide, so make sure you have enough spacing for the rim. The outer width is 32mm. Thanks, Lightbicycle

How are things affected during the current outbreak of corona virus (COVID-19)? How long would an order of rims take to be shipped to the US? I am looking for AR36 hookless bead rims

LightBicycle 2020/03/17

Hi Joe, As you might've learned, the COVID-19 situation is much better now in China than the rest of the world. And our production line is back on normal, you will expect some delay in the production because of some previous orders. So it would typically take 15days for manufacturing. The shipping and delivery process is significantly affected by the local situation. It would take 2 weeks or so under the current situation. If it is US, the delivery is normal as usual (around 7~12 days) to arrive. Thanks, Lightbicycle

I'm confused about the difference between ordering from the Global vs North American Warehouse for delivery to North America, For example, the same build using AR46 rims costs 954 USD from the North America warehouse and 665 USD from global. That's over 40% difference. I see that the North American option includes tax, but that difference doesn't account for the 28 USD difference in shipping plus customs duty. Or does it? Please advise.

LightBicycle 2020/03/06

Hi Fred, Would you tell me the configurations details so I can explain the difference to you? Currently, we offer different hub options for the Global and North America warehouse. The cost is basically the same for the same hubs, only the North America warehouse price is with USD40 Warehouse Transfer Cost & USD50 Wheel building ($90 totally) added. So, are you compare the same exact configurations? Thanks, Lightbicycle

im looking to buy some wheels and noticed there's no in stock. how long would it take to arrive to Los Angeles 90041 after placing order? im looking at the wru55c02. does the wheels come with decals or no? I see there is an option to add or no. if I don't add do they come without any logos? do the wheels come with valve stems or I have to pay extra?

LightBicycle 2020/03/05

Hi Marco, Thanks for reaching out online. 1. Normally, the order is completely customized and full of hand-made which requires around 14 days to go through plus another 7~12 days for delivery. Naturally, since China was largely shut down for more than 1 month, there will be increased shipping pressure so we'd anticipate some delays. But we will have fast Fedex shipping option in one week. And the shipping cost is not expensive either. 2. We could do the bike rims or bicycle wheels without any decal if you want. And I could offer the valves and tubeless tape for you freely. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hey I was looking to buy a new rim for my xc bike but the hub I have has only 28 spokes. Your website says that the only rims that are 28H are the xc flyweight wheels and I can't find anything on that site with that name. Can you make a recommendation?

LightBicycle 2020/03/03

Hi Cameron, We can offer any rims with 28H as long as that's what you wanted. LB is a specialist when it comes to customization of carbon fiber wheels/rims. The flyweight 29er rim you mentioned is one of our best sellers, the RM29C06 (22mm internal/27mm outer width, 24mm depth). The flyweight version is only 280g+/-15 per rim. But we recommend rider under 90kg to ride on this rim. If you are heavier than 90kg, you can choose the standard version of this model, it's 360g+/-15 for each rim. May i know your XC tire width? Miguel 2020/01/30

Hello, I am very interested in your mtb all mountain 29" rims. I have been researching carbon rim companies from China and you seem to have a great well built product. You also have many great reviews that I have found. Can you answer for me why your rims offer a much higher total weight allowed for the rider then most of the other companies I have found. I am concerned with my weight being to heavy for carbon rims. I would hate to invest in these rims to only destroy them on the trail. My riding style is all mountain with minimal small jumps. I really just enjoy riding the beautiful trails in the SF Bay Area. I am 6"4" and weigh around 280 lbs. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

LightBicycle 2020/01/31

Hi Miguel, We just list rider weight accordingly to our lab test data. The rims are pretty strong in lab test. What is your tire width? We recommend below 29 inch rims for your riding, they are strong and durable. Cobie 2020/01/15

Hello - I'd like some advice on rim selection. I'm building a gravel bike and I'm planning to mainly run 40mm tubeless tires (which is the bike frame clearance maximum). I'm considering the AR36 or WR35. Given I won't be able to exceed the 40mm tire width, would it be best to choose the AR36 and save the weight over the WR35? I'm 155 lbs, I expect to run fairly low tire pressures, and I'm wondering if there's any reason not to go hookless. I guess the only disadvantage would be if I want to run road tires on the same rims at higher pressure? Also, what spoke count would you recommend? Finally, my fork takes a 15mm thru-axle - do you have the DT Swiss 180 in this configuration? I assume for the above build, I would need to order from the China/Global warehouse? Thanks!

LightBicycle 2020/01/15

Hi Cobie, If you use 25mm or 28mm wide tires, you can go for AR36(28mm wide/36mm deep). If you use wider tires, you can go for WR35-32mm wide gravel wheels. For DT Swiss 180 hubs, we only have front 12*100mm, we do not have 15*100mm size. We have DT Swiss 240S road disc hub with 15*100mm center lock. Does it work for you? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Patrick 2019/12/28

Hello may I have some help please? I am based in the UK. I would like to order the components to build a road wheelset (700c) Bicycle type is aero road frame. My weight is about 60kgs. I wish to use maximum 28mm tubeless tyres and a rim with no spoke holes. Type of riding will be on road only and some competition (TT and Criterion) Can you recommend the minimum number of spokes for each wheel and the lacing pattern? Can you recommend a maximum rim depth? Thank you in anticipation. Patrick

LightBicycle 2019/12/30

Hi Patrick, What would be the wind condition of where you mostly ride? More hill than flat roads? Or mostly flat? Normally, a deeper rim section allows the air to pass over more smoothly and bring it back together in a clean fashion. I would say 65mm depth would be a good choice for both T.T and road conditions. The rim specs are 18.35mm inner/25.85mm outer width, 65mm depth. We also have deep rims, like 88mm deep. Please let us know what rim depth and width you prefer for your wheelset 700C. Thanks, Lightbicycle

I am interested in placing an industry EP, how do I do that?

LightBicycle 2019/12/28

Hi Justin, Could you be more specific about the product that you wanted? Note that most of our rims/wheels are ordered to make because there're so many customized options available. Do you like road wheels 700C or just carbon bike rims only? I would need some more info about your requirements to know what would be the best-suited product for you. Could you help me with the following questions? 1. What type of riding that you usually do? 2. What tire widths you plan to run? 3. What's your weight, with and without gear. 4. Are you consider yourself an aggressive rider? Thanks, Lightbicycle

I'm looking to build a tubeless road bike wheelset, disc, centerlock, 12x100,12x142. I plan on setting it up tubeless with either 25 or 28c tire size max. I'd like the wheelset to be around 40mm depth and also lightweight. Can you recommend an in stock rim/wheelset build for this? Thanks.

LightBicycle 2019/12/23

Hi Joe, Will the AR36 road disc rim 700C work for you? It's with 28mm wide, 36mm depth. It's one of our most popular rims this year. We do have two of these in stock, the rims are 24H with 3K weave and matte finish. Will this ok with you? The rim weight is 407g and 398g. Also attaching with the rim profile for your ref. I can hold the rims for you in case other people order it first. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Janne 2019/12/17

Hi! I would need a pair of durable and light racing wheels for my 29" MTB. Hubs should be boost compatible example DT Swiss 350 with 56 ratched. rims could be 30mm wide and light. And tubeless ready of course. I need Shimanos new micro spline free wheel for 12s cassette. What are deliver options to Finland? Is there any duty-free or tax-free options? If you can, please send me an offer for that kind of carbon wheel set :) Best regards, Janne Hämäläinen

LightBicycle 2019/12/18

Hi Janne, 1. Yes, we have the 29" 30mm wide wheelset you like. The RM29C19 with 24mm inner / 30mm outer width, 25mm depth would be the perfect fit.We just sent quotation to your email address. Russ 2019/12/07

I am looking for a complete wheels set for a custom build on a Ibis Ripmo 29er. I am looking at two different rims AM933 vs RM29C07. If you could tell me which is the best for All Mountain/Enduro using 2.4 to 2.5" tires? My weight is 120 lbs without gear.

LightBicycle 2019/12/09

Hi Russ, For AM933 and RM29C07 rims, they are both okay for 2.4~2.5" tires. They are strong enough for Ibis Ripmo 29er. But AM933 29er rim is with asymmetrical profile design, it will make spoke tension more balanced between drive side and non-drive side. It will make wheels more durable. So, you can go for AM933 rims. And when we compare the strength between this two rims. AM933 rims are stronger. You can reach us if you like to know the strength difference. For hubs, do you like DT Swiss 240S boost or DT Swiss 350 boost hubs? Please let us know which hubs you prefer, we can get 29er wheelset price for your reference. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Frank 2019/12/04

Hello, I am interested in buying a wheel set with the AR46 disc rim and I have two questions regarding the finish and the decals on the rim. 1. Is it possible to create the wheel set with a finish with a 3k vertical twill pattern and a matte coating? Like the wheels on the bike in the link below but in a matte finish instead of glossy. 2. When choosing the decals, I was not sure what is included in this. I would like my wheel set to have a stealth grey decal at the valve only. No other decal or sticker. Is this an option? Basically this wheel set finish (see link below) but with a matte coating and the same decals you can see here but in stealth grey: https://www.lightbicycle.com/photowall/Customized-version-of-RR56C02--30mm-wide--56mm-deep--with-3k-twill.html Will any of my customization whishes cost anything extra? Thank you very much for your help! Best, Frank

LightBicycle 2019/12/05

Hi Frank, 1. Yes, we could do the 3k vertical twill pattern and a matte coating on the carbon fiber bike road disc rims. 2. The decal shown on the image that you sent to me is the sticker that could be removed. And the stealthy grey color is not available, how about the silver color? We send you some pictures for your check through email. Please check. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Best regards, Phil

LightBicycle 2019/11/29

Hi Phil, 1. Yes, we can make this non disc road wheels with internal nipples for you. And we don't charge for this customized option. So the price would be the same. I am sorry, you didn't mention the rim model No. on the comment, can you kindly advise so I can quote and make the invoice for you accordingly since the internal option is not available online. 2. All our rims are 100% handmade, so it would be very difficult to control the accuracy of the weight. So many factors that would affect the final weight. But we can try to make a light version for you with special care. But no guarantees. I can send the scale photo to you before shipping. Will this ok with you? Thanks, Lightbicycle

The rims have internal nipples and are 50mm deep; 20.5mm wide but this is not an issue if the replacement would be wider.. I would use the exiting hub, spokes and nipples and just put new rims on. Thank you, any help would be appreciated. Regards, Kruno

Hi, Your prices seem different on the buy page compared to the catalog page. For example the WR50 disc rim is listed at $259 but when I go to the North America page int says $279.

LightBicycle 2019/10/30

Hi Erik, And yes, our Global warehouse and North America warehouse has a different price system. The North America warehouse absorb the shipping cost and import tax for the stock rims. Shipping within Canada and US is by UPS, the cost would be much lower than ship from Global directly. So you need to compare the all-in price for the product. Our checkout page was desgined for all-in price comparison use. You can add the items you like to puchase to the cart and do a full around compare. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi Guys! I'm a happy customer, until now, of your products! I've a wheel set for my MTB, and now, I'm purchasing a new road bike. Because, I'm a heavy rider, I need to replace the "OEM" wheels by a "strongest" wheel pair. That's the point where you come into play. I', happy with the quality of your product, and I'm thinking to buy my desired wheel set from you. I was thinking about a pair of custom wheel set based on WR50 Disc version. But, I'm wondering if I can order a custom version using WR38 at front wheel, and WR50 at rear wheel. I couldn't find the way to configure the order by your "Online Shop" that way. Is it possible to order that custom setup? I guess so. Can you help me? Thanks in advance....

I am building up a new FAT CHANCE Slim Chance road bike with a CAMPI 11 speed Record build kit. The kit has DT Swiss aluminum rims with Campi Record (2013 vintage) hubs. I weight about 205 it’s. I am interested in taking hubs and building a set of wheels with your RIMS. I am not a racer ride mostly hilly mountain terrain. I’m looking to loose some bike weight and improve my bikes performance. I know zero about road bike wheels...What Rim would you recommend for me? My new frame will be here in 8-10 weeks (only taking 10 months). Thx, Jim

LightBicycle 2019/10/28

Hi Jim, A few questions for you so I can know better of your requirements before jump into any recommendations. 1. What would be the tire width you plan to use on the road 700C wheels? 2. Do you want to build the wheels yourself? I understand you want to use the hubs from the current wheels? 3. So the weight of rims would be the key concern right? Since you are riding on the mountain terrain road, I would recommend go with shallower rim to reduce the weight and makes the climbing easier. We have R25(25mm wide, 25mm deep, rider weight limit 110kg) and R35(25mm wide, 35mm deep, rider weight limit 125kg) 4. We have a few options for the hubs (available in campy 11s freehub), we have Bitex, DT SWISS and Carbon Ti. Which would be your choce? Thanks, Lightbicycle

I have a 2015 Cannondale SuperSix evo and wanted to get some carbon wheels. It’s a bit tight but currently tires measure about 25.4mm inflated. Looking for something in the 30-40mm deep clincher rim brake. I’m not sure if a 25mm width rim with 25mm tire would leave enough clearance. I’m also a 205lbs with no gear. Any recommendations? Do you make and rims that are external width of 23mm? That mike work okay.

LightBicycle 2019/09/29

Hi D, We have R35 rims with 25mm wide/ 35mm deep. We recommend 23mm tires for these rims since rims have a bit wider than tire width would have a better aerodynamic performance, what's more, the 25mm wide tires would be wider than 25.4mm after inflated. We also have RR38C02 rims with 23mm wide/ 38mm deep. Do you want a pair of rims or one set 700C wheelset? Hubs option? Then we can quote accordingly for you. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Morning Light Bicycle, I'm thinking of purchasing a pair of rims (R45 - 25mm wide x 45mm deep, clinchers, rim brake) which I intend building on a pair of Shimano Ultegra 6800 Hubs (32 hole, 3 cross, with standard brass nipples) - any idea of what spoke length I would need and do you sell spokes? Regards

LightBicycle 2019/09/13

Hi Sir, Thanks for your inquiry! It is okay to buy rims and spokes together. 700C clincher Rims: RRU45C02, 25mm wide/45mm deep, clincher, UD matte 32H, with high TG resin brake surface, USD154 each We can calculate the spoke length for you to match Shimano Ultegra 6800 Hubs hubs if you like to order. I’m looking for the strongest wheels, not the lightest, because of my size. Can you tell me the best rims and the cost for deliver to the UK please? Thank you, Tony

LightBicycle 2019/08/20

Hi Tony, I would recommend the FAT680 (80mm inner/85mm outer width, 20mm depth) fat bike wheelset, it will complaint with your 4.8" tires. The rider weight limit is 120kg. If you are a heavy rider or need a reinforced version, we can customized a special version for you. https://www.lightbicycle.com/85mm-wide-carbon-26er-fat-bike-wheels-hookless-double-wall-tubeless-compatible.html Thanks, Lightbicycle

LightBicycle 2019/08/17

Hi Nikul, Normally, brake pads brands would specific about the pad's usage. Take Swiss Stop, for instance, their Yellow King and Black Prince series are specially compound for carbon rims. So as long as you choose the right brake pads, it won't sabotage the rim warranty. You have to puse the pads for carbon fiber rims only. But our pads are tested well in our lab braking test . Hi there, I’m 6’6” and 240lbs and found your E932 wheels that should hold my weight up to 264lbs. I’m still learning as much as I can about wheels but as I was choosing a hole count I automatically chose 36h for my rear. According to your guys expertise, does having 36h vs 32h give a larger max rider weight on the same wheel set up? Thank you! Brandon H

LightBicycle 2019/08/12

Hi Brandon, 1. The EN932 is the strongest 29er enduro bike rim we offer online by now, the weight limit is 140kg(308.6 lbs.), so your weight would be fine for the rim. 2. If you are planning on doing some rough riding or hard terrain, we can make a reinforced version for you. If you like to order the reinforced version from us, I will make the invoice for you as this is a customized option. 3. Impact resistance and wheel stiffness speaking, the wheel with 36H will certainly stronger than 32H. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hil 2019/08/07

Hi, I'm interested in buying the RR56C02-30 rim. But before I do I would like some answers on the following questions, if possible. 1: When developing the RR56C02-30. Which tire did you use as a baseline? 2: Can you tell me how wide a Continental GP5000 (tubeless) 25mm and 28mm will be on a RR56C02-30 when inflated to 5 bar? 3: Is it possible to build the rim up with hidden spoke nipples? Thank you in advance Regards,

LightBicycle 2019/08/07

Hi Hill, Please check our reply as below. 1. For RR56C02-30mm wide road disc rims, normally we use 25C to 32C. But the tire width range can go from 23C~50C. 2. We measured GP500 tire width on AR rims(AR36/AR46/AR56). For 25C tire, the tire width is measure at 26.54mm. For 28C tire, it is measured at 29.37mm and 28.64mm. Please check below sheet we did. 3. It is okay to manufacture rims with internal spoke holes. The nipples will be hidden inside the wheels. You can leave a a message on the order that you need "internal nipples for rims". Then we can see it and will manufacture accordingly. Or you can list your order specs here. We can work on invoice accordingly for you. Thanks, Lightbicycle

LightBicycle 2019/10/09

Hi Hill, 1. Do you mean you like to order rims only, and you will build rims with Rotor hubs. If yes, it is okay to buy road 30mm wide 700C rims only from us. 2. It is okay to manufacture rims with internal nipples.   For without spoke access holes on rim bed(UST), it is hard for wheelbuilding. If you are not experienced in this kind of wheelbuilding, we do not recommend it for you. But if you know how to build this kind of wheelset, it is okay to order rims without holes on rim center channel. Thanks, Lightbicycle

LightBicycle 2019/10/11

Hi Hil, 1. I will get back to you once you confirm the possibility of the Rotor disc hub. Or you can purchase from Rotor directly, we can sell the rims only to you. 2. We can only build with rims either with no holes on the channel or internal nipples, cannot do both. Which would you prefer to have on your road disc wheelset? Thanks, Lightbicycle

LightBicycle 2019/08/01

Hi Andrew, 1. For most of the case, lead time refers to manufacturing & wheel building plus the shipping & delivery time. If we have the rims you want in stock, rims can be shipped out within 2 business days, If you like to have it build up as complete wheelset, it would take 3 business day before shipping. So what rims/wheels are you interested in? Could you let me know the configurations that you have in your mind as well? I can check if it's in stock for you. 2. The shipping & delivery time would take another 7~10 days by EMS. If you want to speed up the shipping process, you can choose DHL. It would cost more of course. Is there any time restrictions that you have? 3. Which product are you interested in? mtb wheelset or road? How many? Then we can check on the lead time accordingly for you. Thanks, Lightbicycle

You only have their "competition" spokes... DT swiss Champion 2.0 straight gauge spokes are like the "reference standard" for Mountain bike wheels. Can you please add the DT swiss Champion 2.0 straight gauge black spokes into your wheel making process, and into the menu system for custom build configuring? Hi Can you advise on a 26 rim if i was too use the True Precision Stealth rear hub, would i need it symmetric or asymmetric

LightBicycle 2019/07/15

Hi Sir, Asymmetrical rims are designed and drilled to compensate for the offset design of most hubs. The asymmetry of the rim allows the spokes to equalize in the tension between the drive and non-drive sides of the wheel. The result is in more even spoke lengths and a stronger wheel build which requires less trying than a traditional rim. On the other hand, symmetrical rims utilize standard drilling practices and do not compensate for the offset hub design. Can you get the hub dimensions drawing to confirm that the hub is made with standard offset? Also, can you confirm whether if your frame a specially made frame that with offset feature? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hello! I am curious if you have the opinion of Titanium hubs available. Like those from white industries? Do you sell deep section light weight alloy rims? Similar to carbon, but more durable? Thanks so much!

LightBicycle 2019/07/03

Hi Jonathan, We can purchase the White industries Titanium hubs for you if that's what you wanted. Sorry that Light Bicycle only sells carbon bicycle rims. Our rims are very durable that many rims last for a few years after some very rough riding. We also had our rims test by pro riders like Ali Clarkson to see how they perform during all sorts of riding. You can check out those videos if you are interested to see the performance in the filed. Also, all our standard rims are with a 3-year warranty and 5-year or lifetime warranty is available for our pro rims (new tech). Let me know if you are interested to learn more about this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DBvwHj2PZU&t=317s Thanks, Lightbicycle

I have a 29" hardtail and want to put some 29" x 2.0" slicks on it. The bike is a 2018 Ibis dv9 and has 110/148 boost XD 12 speed. I weigh 55 pounds and would like to ride it 90% on road and 10% pm easy trails. What do you have that would be fast and light and strong? Dan

LightBicycle 2019/06/20

Hi Dan, I think our RM29C06 (27mm wide) 29er cyclocross wheels would be a good fit for your trail bike. You can check it out at https://www.lightbicycle.com/bead-hook-less-rims-carbon-29er-light-bike-rim-tubeless-compatible.html We also have carbon Ti light hubs, that can make the wheelset around 1160g+/-25 for you. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Cal 2019/06/13

Hi, You indicated that your wheel is manufactured with two parts joined together which you refer to as “duotek”, resulting in fewer joints, therefore fewer points of failure. Would it be possible to make the rim in one piece so that there is no joint? Would a one piece with no joint be a better design than a two piece? Cal

LightBicycle 2019/06/14

Hi Cal, All Light Bicycle rims are made with one-piece layup years ago. Not sure the concept of Duotek is on our site. We did publish an article about one-piece layup. You can check it out at https://www.lightbicycle.com/newsletter/technology-improve-of-light-bicycle-carbon-mtb-650b-rims.html What's more, we separate joints of every layer in a certain order so the rim can as close as it can be to the Isotropic structure. Our Pro series rims are with all-new manufacturing process and method to make the carbon fiber bicycle rim stronger, so if you are after stronger rims, Pro rims would be a good choice. Let me know what more do you like to know about our products, happy to help. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Kevin 2019/05/01

Hi I’ve just ordered some of your 56 mm road wheels Will you be getting UCI approval for your wheels? Thanks Kevin

LightBicycle 2019/05/02

Hi Kevin, Thanks for your order! For our RR56C02 road disc wheelset, the wind tunnel test result is really good. Please check below for your reference. https://www.hambini.com/blog/post/bicycle-wheel-aerodynamics-which-one-is-fastest/ For road UCI test, it is actually really easy to pass. Almost of all wheels can pass the test. It is really low test standard. It just need a lab test picture here, then UCI will set it approved. We just sent U45 test pictures to UCI and find it is easy to pass. We do not send any other models to get UCI approval any more. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Dear Sirs and Madames, I am interested in the AM728 rims. I weigh 95kg and am unsure if I need the AM or the EN variant, because I want to build the wheels very lightly. How is it with customs clearance and shipping to Germany? what is there to consider? Thanks and Greetings Ingo von Klot

LightBicycle 2019/05/01

Hi Ingo, For your riding, we recommend you to go for front AM728/rear EN728. It is a good combination 650B wheelset. Do you like rims only? Currently, we provide 2 kinds of shipping methods to Germany for 2 rims. TPD delivery: USD89, tax pre-paid duty, don't need to pay customs tax and VAT cost, 7~12 days roughly for delivery EMS delivery: USD50, need to pay Customs fee if necessary. We will also declare the low value to help you reduce the tax cost, 7~12 days roughly for delivery. Thanks, Lightbicycle

I have several LB rims in service already and I love them. I'm building a PowerTap rear wheel and would like to be able to swap it between disc and cantilever bikes for training. Can I order RR36C02, RG922 or WR38 with a braking surface? Would this surface require a special friction material? On your website, these 3 rims are available as 24H and 28H. Can I order 32H? Thanks Alan

LightBicycle 2019/04/30

Hi Alan, We can make a non-disc version of RR36C02 & RG922. WR38 non-disc version is currently not available. What kind of riding do you plan to do with the new road wheels? What would the tire width be? I can make some recommendations for you if you like. And it is okay to order 32H for road non disc rims. Don't worry. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Kaspars 2019/04/29

Hello! Please, help me choose a rim between EN932 and AM935 with following considerations: - I weight 105-108kg; - I ride a hardtail Trail bike; - I ride XC marathon races and XCO cross races with 3-5m long easy jumps, but no enduro/DH; - I would primarily use 29x2.6" tires, sometimes maybe 29x2.8"; - our trails are sandy, loamy and rooty, we don't have rocks on our trails, only some XCO tracks have short and easy handmade rockgardens. To summarize, I'm heavy, ride quite aggressive in easy trails and jumps, and need strong but light rims for amateur competitions. I would like get rims with no nipple holes to be used without tubeless tape, can you do this for those rims? How much is the delivery to Latvia (LV-1050) with TPD? Are you absolutely sure no tax payment will be asked for importing in EU? Best regards, Kaspars

LightBicycle 2019/04/30

Hi Kaspars, 1. Yes, we can make UST(no spoke access hole drilling hole on the rim bed) 29er enduro rims for you. 2. The TPD is tax included yes. But sorry to tell you that Latvia is not covered by TPD routes. Or can you pick up the package from other EU countries that available for TPD? Estonia maybe? Let me know if it's doable for you. If so, pls provide the address information so I can create the invoice for you as TPD is not available online currently. However, we can ship the rims by EMS, and lower the declared value on the customs documents, will this work for you? Usually, we put USD110 for two rims. 3. EN932 is the strongest rim we now offer online. It's only 500g+/-15. Very light for a strong rim like this. Or you can go with AM935 since you don't do any DH. Thanks, Lightbicycle

I'm interested in a partial wheelset - a rear, build wheel using a WR46CO2 with an onyx hub, sapim CXray spokes. I'll have the front wheel built locally, since I want a dynohub (shutter PDX-8) - if you can build the front wheel, that would be great, but otherwise, can you ship just the rim? I weigh between 65 and 70kg, will use this wheelset for road and gravel with 45-55 tires, was going to go 24 front/rear - what do you think? Can you price it for me? Thanks!

Colin 2019/04/22

Hello, I am living in the USA and am wondering if it is better to order from the "North America" buying option, rather than the "global", as... we are at war (I hope you understand my humor!, American humor is strange, I know). But seriously, I am concerned that because of the current political situation, it might be better to purchase from the North America option, can you advise? My friend has purchased many of your products, and speaks very highly of them. Sincerely, Colin P. Rooney

LightBicycle 2019/04/23

Hi Colin, You don't have to worry about the trade policy between our countries. It won't really affect our orders. Currently, the shipping remains the same condition as usual. Takes about 7~10 days for delivery, USD50 for two rims, USD78 for one wheelset. We usually declare the items with a lower value so you can pay less or none tax. Normally we put USD110 for 2 bike rims, USD220 for one bikewheelset. On the other hand, you can purchase the items from our North American warehouse, but we only have an inventory of popular specs. What is great with NA warehouse is that you can get the rims/wheels (if in stock) quicker and with tax covered. But note that the price will be different from Global even for the same item. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi. Sorry not for orders. I have wheel of Giant and have problem on brake surface. If I send you, then can you make brake surface? Thanks.

LightBicycle 2019/04/15

Hi Han, Brake surface was added to the rim before molding and mold with the rim. So you cannot only change the brake surface. Sorry to tell you that. If your wheel still in the warranty period, you can reach out to Gaint for warranty. If your warranty is due, maybe you can find something close to the rim you have from our product collections as a replacement. Our carbon road rim brake surface is very durable, we have two options for you to choose from The High TG brake surface and the grooved Graphene surface . Let me know if you are interested. Our carbon fiber bike rims are with fair price. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi. I was trying to price up a set of wheels on your website. I was interested in Carbon RRU45 C02 23mm wheels , Non Disk, with DT 350 hubs. However I can't work out how to select these hubs with straight pull spokes for NON disk because when I select these options the Quick release options vanish so there are only Disk options for Axle. Is it possible to have these wheels with non disk rims and straight pull DT swiss 350 hubs? Cheers, Richard

Hi, I'm looking to buy a set of carbon wheels for my gravel bike later this year. While I like your website and selecting a wheel build is easy to do, you should think about adding a "gravel bike" category in the "shop" menu. For example, I would like to build up a set of carbon wheels in 11 sp Shimano road configuration, but with wider 29er rims - but the rims are only offered in the MTB menu.

LightBicycle 2019/04/13

Hi Neil, We do have rims/wheels for gravel bikes, but we put it under the road bike category currently. We would consider your suggestion very carefully. Thank you for the feedback. Some of our customers do use the XC925 and RM29C06 as their gravel bike wheels. But we do also have some wider road rims for gravel rims. RR56C02 road gravel bike wheels for instance, it's with 30mm wide, 56mm deep. We also plan to launch a new series of road rims in May (the Falcon Pro) with a wider profile and new technology applied. You can check out the new rims later on. Attaching with rim profiles for your ref. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi, when ordering 1 pair of road wheelset - there is just EMS offered. Where will be this shipped from? Inside EU or Outside EU when my delivery address is Czech Republic? If this is from outside, do you also offer XDB Shipping where there are not customs and taxes? Regards, Jirka

LightBicycle 2019/04/17

Jirka, Yes, XDB delivery to the Czech Republic is available. The delivery cost would be USD155 for one wheelset. Would you mind tell me the exact specs of the wheelset. Do you like road 700C wheelset or mountain wheels? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi, I purchased these rims: http://www.light-bicycle.com/Hookless-carbon-650B-mtb-35mm-wide-AM-27-5-rims-tubeless-compatible.html in November 2014 and I have loved them! Unfortunately, my rear rim cracked near the valve stem. I'd like to replace it with an EN728 rim. I don't expect you to simply replace the rim, but can you offer any kind discount? The alternative rim I'm considering is the DT Swiss XM481, which is on-sale for <$100 shipped, making it a difficult decision. Thanks!

LightBicycle 2019/04/10

Hi Jeff, Yes, we can offer you a discount for your replacement 27.5 bike rim EN728. I understand that you are bouncing between our carbon rim EN728 and aluminum rim 1. Carbon rims are usually more durable and stiff than aluminum rims. 2. We extended our standard warranty from 1 year to 3 years now. 3. Light Bicycle offers excellent after-sell service for every individual customer, big brands more intended to put their focus on product development or team customers. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hello, Is the WRU55C02 an updated version of the WR56C02? Is teh WRU55C02 stocked in the North America warehouse? Because I am located in Canada, it seems easier for shipping. Also how do I specify it to be built with the Grooved Graphene Surface? Thanks, Sam

LightBicycle 2019/04/06

Hi Sam, For RRU55C02, it is 25mm wide/55mm deep, aero shape. For RR56C02, it is 30mm wide/56mm deep, it is more gravel optimized aero shape. This rim is wide, you have to make sure that your caliper is wide enough. For our North America warehouse, there only are disc version there. If you like rims with graphene brake surface, you have to order from global warehouse here. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Onyx has recently announced their brand new MTB hubs and will be taking pre-orders in the next week or two. I spoke with them and they said pre-orders will also be available to you at Light Bicycle at the same time and to contact you directly. I would like to pre order/order new wheels built up from you with the new Onyx hubs. Really hoping to get on this order ASAP as I know they will be in high demand and want to make sure my order is one of the earliest ones fulfilled when the hubs go into production. How would I go about doing this? I am in California and would be ordering from the North America division and have a pretty solid idea of the configuration I want. Please advise. Thanks, -Bo

For your Recon PRO 29er rim, you state the ERD is 594mm (not including nipple head dimension). Does that mean the diameter of the inside of the rim without drilliing? If I used a traditional external nipple would the ERD be about 4 mm more? Thanks, Andy

LightBicycle 2019/03/28

Hi Andy, You can check out below sketch to get a better idea about our ERD calculation. Here's an example for ERD calculation: The rim ERD is 583mm not including nipple head dimension. It is 633- 28*2(rim depth)+2*3mm(spoke hole wall thickness)= 583mm. And you are right, if you are using traditional way to calculate the ERD, you will have to add 4mm to it. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi, I currently live in Houston in United States and I'm considering to purchase a set of light bicycle rims. If I purchase, I would like to ship to South Korea where my family lives. Because of South Korean custom issues, I was wondering if you can do me a little favor of marking the value of rimset little bit lower of $170(tax is charged on all products over usd $180) which is originally about $330. Hope to hear your positive respond with my situation. Thank you!

LightBicycle 2019/03/26

Hi Jason, We certainly can help you with declaring bike rims at lower value . We usually put USD110 for two rims. I think it will meet your needs perfectly. You can leave the request to the message box when you checkout. Or I can create the invoice for you if you like. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hello, When ordering from USA, are the wheelsets subject to US import tariffs? Thanks. Jeff

LightBicycle 2019/03/25

Hi Jeff, Here's what you need to know about shipping from our North America warehouse. 1. The warehouse located in the border between US and Canda. Technically in Canada. 2. The price for North America items is tax/brokage fees included. 3. North America warehouse only stock the popular items with standard specs. What item are you interested in? 4. If the bicycle rims/wheelset you want is not available in NA warehouse, you can order it from our Global warehouse. What we usually do to make our customers pay less tax/tariff is to lower the declared value on the customs documentation. USD220/wheelset and USD110 for two rims. Will this work for you? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Alex 2019/03/18

Hi there! I'm really really excited about buying a Light Bicycle wheelset but I'm stuck on which rims to go with! I am aggressive 70kg rider and do a mix of all mountain and enduro. I will definitely go for the DT 240s straight pull hubs with 54t ratchet, and for reference I am currently running 30mm internal aluminium rims with 2.5" tyres. I am currently choosing between the Recon EN728 and Recon RM650BC05HD. It looks like the weight on these is the same (454g vs 455g) but according to the rim comparison page the EN728 is the same impact strength but much stiffer (13.5 side, 10.7 vert vs 12.2 side, 7.8 vert). Is this analysis correct? I am happy to go with the 28mm internal rim if it is stiffer. Total wheelset weight and price are very similar so I am just looking to get the best result! It also looks like the EN728 is in stock currently so it would be great to take advantage of the very short lead time. Thank you very much for any help.

LightBicycle 2019/03/18

Hi Alex, Yes, our comparison figures were scale relatively according to our lab testing data. The EN728 is more stiff. Actually, we have only last two EN728 650B rims in stock, they are with UD, matte, 32H. Are the specs ok with you? I can reserve the rims for you in case it sold to others. Their weights are 454g and 462g. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hello, I'd like to buy one wheelset. Is Tax-Prepaid delivery to Germany possible and can you assure I wont have to pay any taxes then? What is the shipping cost with TPD? And could you please send me a picture of the following rim (or a similar one) with white and with stealth decals: WRU45C02. Thank you in advance.

LightBicycle 2019/02/19

Hi Fritz, 1. Yes, we can ship to Germany by TPD (Tax-Prepaid Delivery). The tax is already included to the shipping cost, so yes, you don't have to pay for the import tax on your side. The shipping cost would be USD156 for one wheelset to Germany. Let me know the rims/wheelset that you want to order so I can create an invoice for you considering the TPD is not available online currently. 2. We sent photos for WRU45C02 with stealth and white decal for your reference. It is sent to your email. Please check. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Fuad 2019/02/18

Hi, I am interested in purchasing a WR46C02 wheelset. I understand this rim is designed for disk brakes but is it ok/safe to build it with rim brakes? If it is, do you recommend the graphene or high TG resin brake surface? Also, do you still provide sapim double square or dt swiss SQUORX nipples as on option?

LightBicycle 2019/02/19

Hi Fuad, Yes, we do have WR46C02 road wheelset with rim brake track. At global ship, When you choose hubs with front 100mm*QR/ rear 130mm*QR, these are non disc hubs, and the rims will be with rim brake track surface. 1. Below is the difference between the two brake track for your reference. I would recommend the Grooved Graphene surface for it's better braking performance. High TG Surface: Rim Brake 700C road rims use an advanced High TG resin system with a layer of graphene to help dissipate heat. The braking power and reliability is significantly improved over a basalt braking surface. Grooved Graphene Surface: Our new resin system and construction method, combined with the 3k rim track, withstands over 280°C, dissipates heat, and lowers rim temperatures faster in between braking efforts. Gain confidence-inspiring brake performance on the steepest descents and wettest conditions with our matching brake pads. Also, graphene added to the rim brake track allows for greater resistance to overheating with improved heat dissipation and reduced temperature accumulation during heavy braking. The grooved track helps evacuate trapped moisture between pad and rim in wet conditions and brings more resistance and force at the lever when conditions are dry. 2. Yes, we do still provide Sapim Dboule square nipples and DT Squorx nipples. I can mark your request to the order if you like. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Brian 2019/02/15

Quick wheelset question. I'm looking at the 29" EN932 vs EN933 rim. EN932 is listed at 500g and the EN933 is listed at 510g. Complete Wheelset Build: -Hope Hubs (boost front and rear. XD driver) -Sapim D Light Spokes I've "built" the wheelsets using identical builds (hub and spoke choice) using both the EN933 and EN932 rims. My issue is this: With EN932 the wheelset comes in at 1755g With EN933 the wheelset comes in at 1835g How can there be such a difference if the only thing changed out is the rim? The rims are listed as only having a 10g difference between them. Should be a 20g difference, not a 80g difference. So, which do you think is the accurate measurement? Trying to decide between the two wheelsets, but I don't want the weight to sway me towards the EN932 if one of those measurements isn't accurate. If I'm a 205lb, aggressive rider, is it worth the extra $242 to go with the EN932 build or is the EN933 more than up to the task? I'm using CushCore, so I'm not too worried about rim strikes. Thank you for any info you can give me on this. Brian

LightBicycle 2019/02/15

Hi Brian, EN932 29er wheelset is just released on website and thank you for you help to
