*Beadless: hookless rim wall is more smooth and straight, the tire will touch rim walls fully and mounted perfectly, allowing to run lower tire pressure without risk of air loss or pinch flats.hookless carbon rim walls is a way to improve impact resistance, so it is more durable and much stronger than original 27.5-inch wheel hook design.

*Bead lock: the small ridges on either side of the drop channel.
Some riders concerns the transition to hookless rim profiles will cause tyres blowing off or an increased likelihood of burping air from tubeless tyres. So we add bead lock ridges to make them without any fear and ride confidently.

We have started this manufacturing of this 650B XC rims mold. It will be ready for sale around 2014 September 10th.

In 2011 year, our first 29er carbon rim 30mm wide is very popular. All these years, we have designed quite a lot of mtb rims accordingly to customers’ suggestion & demand, like mtb 26er carbon rim, 650B, 29er wider rims and more durable carbon rims for DH riding. We are keeping on improving rim structual design, the balance between strength & weight. Our factory has more carbon mtb manufacturing & design experience. We are sure this mtb cross country 650B rim will be popular, and in the coming future, we will also make the same profile for 29er XC & 26er XC rims.

The bead-lock design is a great improvement to keep the tires from burping, or coming off the rim. Is the bead-lock feature on the wider 29" and 27.5" rims also?

Hi Ben, Thanks for your inquiry. There are some customers who are worried about hookless rims tire mounting, so we add bead lock ridges to make them without any fear and ride confidently. Actually, all current of our hookless rims are with no bead-lock, the tire will touch rim walls fully and be mounted perfectly. Also there is zero issues of holding tires for hookless rims. We have sold these hookless rims for more than 1 years. There is no tire issue. Don’t worry. We will have new wider 29er & 650B rims with around 38mm wide in the coming future. We can also add the bead-lock design if some customers still fear of the tire coming off the rims. Thanks, Light-bicycle
