DT Swiss 240s & Spokes Available Now

We find there are quite a few customers like our carbon mtb wheels to be built with DT 240s & DT bike spoke. And we have contacted with DT agent in China. It is ok to order DT hub from them.

We are only carbon rims manufacturer, not good at spokes and hubs. We like to get suggestions from all customers. Which model of dt swiss hubs & spokes are good for mtb wheel & road wheel? 240s dt swiss? For spokes, is it aero spokes? DT competition spokes or dt comp spoke?

Also, hubs for mountain bike wheel, we are going to order dt 240 hubs, central locked. Is that ok? Which size of hub axle do your guys prefer? Front 9mm/rear 10*135mm, front 15m/rear 10*135mm, and front 15mm/rear 12*142mm?

These hubs & spokes will be used for our mtb 29er wheels, mtb 26er wheels and mtb 650b wheels

Welcome to provide suggestion and then we can place an order for hubs & spokes accordingly. Then we can provide carbon rims with hubs DT swiss wheels.

We do will provide good carbon rims tubeless mtb 29er, 26er and 650b rims, also for road carbon bicycle rims and bicycle wheels.

The 240s have 36t and 54t star ratchet upgrade over the stock 18t. IE: http://www.amazon.com/DT-Swiss-36-Step-Star-Ratchets/dp/B002SR5MII For me, It's no brainer to upgrade to 36t if i'm getting dt-swiss hub. Make it default option or at least provide as suggestion upgrade too. I want to see it as an option when i'm ready to buy a carbon wheels (perhaps sometime next year)

Light-Bicycle 2015/12/31

Hello Hxs, Thanks for your inquiry. All the DT Swiss mtb hubs we stock is with 18 points of engagement which can be upgraded to a 36 ratchet. The price is only USD70 added. The mtb wheels with DT Swiss hubs (18T) are available on our website, if you prefer wheels with 36t, we can create a purchase link for you to order. We have 27mm/ 30mm/ 35mm/ 38mm width rims for XC, all mountain and heavy duty riding. Which do you prefer? 26er, 650B or 29er? Then we will quote accordingly. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Can you make a 650B DT Swiss 240s laced straight pull 20/24 carbon rim 25mm width (lightest rim for disc brake) sapim laser or dt Swiss revolution?

Light-Bicycle 2015/09/09

Hello Kyle, Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, we can build the wheels with DT Swiss 240S hubs. Do you prefer road wheels or MTB wheels? For road wheels, only 700C rims are available. For mtb wheels, we can build it with 27mm wide 650B lightest rim, no the 650B mtb rim with 25mm width. Also, only 28H & 32H for DT 240S disc hubs in stock, no hubs in 20H/24H. Sorry about that. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Can you build with the 240S Straight-Pull Front Hub 28h 15mm Thru Axle 6-Bolt Disc and the 240S Straight-Pull Rear Hub 28h 12x142mm 6-Bolt Disc XD Drive? I do not want centerlock hubs because of the added parts and weight of the finished build. I await your reply.

Light-Bicycle 2015/04/15

Hello Erick, Thanks for your support. Yes, we can build the mtb wheels with DT Swiss 240 Straight-pull 6-bolt front 15mm thru axle/ rear 12*142mm thru axle for Sram xx1 in 28H. I would like to get a pair of wheels built with DT Swiss 240, with regular (135 mm) rear axle and 15mm front axle. Is this something you can now build? Also, I want to know if you can offer 6-bolt hubs, or only center-lock. Thanks, J

Light-Bicycle 2014/01/16

Hello Jordan, Thanks for your inquiry. May I know which rim you’d prefer? Then I would mail you the attached cross-section drawing and more detail information. Currently, there are no DT hubs. But we have Hope Pro 2 Evo hubs with 6-bolt(15mm/standard 135mm QR). Is it OK for you? Thanks, Light-bicycle

how much would a wide 29er wheelset with dt swiss 350 hubs and revolution spokes and sapim polymax black nipples be?

Light-Bicycle 2013/01/30

Hello Yoni, Thanks for your inquiry. Currently, we do not have DT 350s hubs, only Novatec hubs. The price of DT hubs here is high. We will have DT revolution spokes around 40days later. Is that ok for you? For nipples, we only have pillar alloy nipples now. Thanks, Light-bicycle

is it possible to build with Tune hubs at all? as these are far better than DT Swiss and about the same price...DT Swiss revolution spokes are good. avoid Sapim spokes as the are notorious for breaking

Light-Bicycle 2013/01/27

Hello Dom, Thanks for your suggestion here. Currently, we do not have Tune hubs. Is "Tune hubs" good? And DT hubs are expensive here, the DT agent doesn't like like to provide good price for DT hubs. So, we still haven't order DT hubs. But we will have DT revolution spokes around 1 month later. We have ordered, and the spokes will arrive around 1 month later. Thanks, Light-Bicycle

I will be building some of these rims (26in, 32h) to DT 240s for next summer. 20mm front 150x12 rear. I intend to test these at the limits on my downhill bike. probably at least the front in a tubeless setup.

Support 2012/10/29

Hello Liam, Thanks for your inquiry. Will you use these rims for down hill race? And then we can make the rims stronger, around 450g. Is that ok for you? Thanks, Light-bicycle

Matt 2012/11/10

Support 2012/11/11

Tom 2012/10/24

Hello. Would it be possible to order some DT swiss hubs to go with the carbon rims I currently have on order with you? I would be happy to get hold of spokes and build the wheels myself but if you can give me a price fore the hubs that would be great.

Support 2012/10/24

Hello Tom, Thanks for your inquiry. Currently, we do not have DT hubs in stock. It will take 3 months to get the DT hubs. If it is ok for you, you can get rims only from us first. What is the price for DT hubs in your country? Because we still haven't got good price from DT China agent. Thanks, Light-bicycle

DT240 is a great choice, as are the many different spokes mentioned. However, as you can see with the 6-bolt and Centerlock choices, many customer will prefer one way and not another. There are some online companies that build good wheels, but they literally have hundreds of options. But the bigger question is why would you want to build wheels? It is well known that wheel building is the most difficulty thing to do well when building a bike. Most wheel builders that people trust have over 20 years of experience building wheels. If I was buying an expensive carbon rim, and an expensive hub, and expensive spokes. Why would I trust all those expensive things to be built by someone I had no direct contact with? My advice would be to spend the resources you have on building good rims for the XC and AM market. You will want to focus on engineering the rim so that you do not have to cut fibers for the nipples, making it truly tubeless compatible (without modifications). Focus on improving what already know how to do, not venturing into areas that will likely never be profitable.

Support 2012/10/13

Hello Ralph, Thanks for your suggestion. We know our key work is to make the rims and frames good. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Hello Jonas, Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, most customers like DT 240 hubs, and DT revolution spokes. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Is sapim cx-rays an option? ( along w their polyax nipples ) truth be told, these are still my all time favorite spoke/nipple set. Alternatively I believe the sapim lasers are very price competitive. Boasting similar qualities and properties to the dt revolution spokes but at a lower cost?

Support 2012/09/24

Hello Alvin, Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, we can order sapim cx-rays spokes. Is sapim cx-ray spokes good for mtb bikes? I thought Sapim cx-rays spokes are only good for road wheels. Yes, DT revolution spokes will be cheaper than sapim spokes. Thanks, Light-bicycle

A

Alvin 2012/09/25

Hello, Will Sapim Lasers(not the CX Rays) be more cost effective? Also is pillar spokes avail? the following are good spokes for MTB wheels. Aero spokes (similar to CX Ray): Pillar PBA 1420 Non Aero spokes: Pillar PSR TB 2015 (triple butted) non aero similar to (DT revo and Sapim Laser):Pillar PDB 1417 (double butted)

Support 2012/09/25

Hello Alvin, Yes, Sapim lasers will be more expensive. We can get aero PBA 1420 spokes, And also PDB 1417 spokes( round). Thanks, Light-bicycle

Hubs, id definaty suggest 6 bolt version of the dt240. Most popular axle configuration for the xc market would probably be 15qr(front)/10mmx135(rear) Best spokes for a carbon wheelset would likely be dt revolutions, built well, they can even be very at home on a all mountain wheelset. Alternatively, dt supercomps are also a great choice for a stronger build. Nipple selection might also be put to consideration. Looking forward to seeing 650b xc wheelset made available. Cheers

Support 2012/09/24

Hello Alvin, Thanks for your suggestion. We can get DT240 hubs with 6 bolt version, front 15mm, rear 10*135mm. But the price for one 29er wheelset with DT hubs will be around USD1000. Will it be accepted for customers? The DT hubs are much expensive. For 650b wheelset, it is ok to order. We will upload the 650b rim for sell on website this week. Thanks, Light-bicycle
