Mariano 2023/07/04

Hello, I am looking for carbon rims, and I have chosen the Falcon RIM R45 as my favourite. I need one with 20 and another one with 24 holes. On the pics they come with grey or red decals. When clicking "Buy" they are describes as non-printed. How are they delivered? What is the price for one rim? And I also have another question: I live in Europe - I read that tere is an option to buyx with the taxes prepaid. How can I manage it to put the order with taxes prepaid? Thank you for your respond. Best regards Mariano

LightBicycle 2023/07/04

Hi Mariano, Thanks for reaching out! 1. We have a few color options for the decals. What color do you prefer? I can send you some photos for ref. 2. The rim is USD164 each with standard high TG brake surface, and USD184 for graphene brake surface. We have some rims 700C rim brake in stock if you have a rather narrow time window. But all stock rims are without any decals. 3. Yes, we do have tax-prepaid delivery optional. You can check out the cost on the checkout page. I can also send you the order via email to save you some trouble if you like. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Giovanni 2021/06/08

Hello, Is it possible to have a 21 hole RRU45C02 rim? (rim brake falcon R45) Thanks Giovanni

LightBicycle 2021/06/08

Hi Giovanni, It is okay to manufacture the rim R45 rim brake 700C with 21H spoke holes. Are all spoke holes evenly spaced on the rim? Or 2:1 lacing pattern? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Asbjorn 2021/02/19

Hi, thinking about lacing a pair of r45 falcon to a set of da m7900 hubs I have (16h/20h). Will this be a good combo for me? I am 92kgs, and a recreational rider. What spokes/nipples/washers? Can you offer to match? Thanks asbjorn

LightBicycle 2021/02/20

Hi Asbjorn, 1. The R45 700C rim brake wheels would be a good fit for you, the max rider weight we recommend is under 130kg. But please make sure your frame spacing is ok with the 25mm width. Some road models are only compatible with narrow rims. 2. We don't use the washers for our wheels(our wheel spoke holes are durable enough), but you can use Sapim washers if you prefer to have washers while building if you do not mind weights adding. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Francesco 2020/05/29

I would buy a pair of R45 clincher rim to mount them with dtswiss 240s straightpull hubs, the spoke hole angle (+-6) is ok for this hub? Is safe to fit 23mm tires on these rims? Regards Francesco

LightBicycle 2020/05/29

Hi Francesco, 1. The R45 700C rims are ok to build with the DT Swiss hubs. Note that we only provide the new DT 240 EXP hubs and 350 hubs at the moment. Here's the most popular build for your ref. https://www.lightbicycle.com/site/share-cart?id=1573 2. The drilling angle makes the spoke align better and spoke tension balanced. 3. 23c tires would be a bit narrow for the 25mm wide rim. But the mounting varies from tires. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Dave 2019/12/02

Hello, I'm looking at your r45 rim in 20/24h. How wide is the rim at its widest point and how far is this away from the edge of the rim? I need to know for clearance. Is there any discount codes for black Friday/cybermonday? I want to place an order but I'll wait until the new year unless there is much reason not to. Thanks, Dave.

LightBicycle 2019/12/03

Hi Dave, You can see the widest area is 27.3mm at the middle of this road bike rim body area. We sent the rim profile to your email address. Please check. Does it work for you? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Steven 2019/10/23

I would appreciate your advice on primarily rim depth. I am after a set of rims for general road use. I am thinking of the Falcon RA46 or R45. I ride mainly on roads, at moderate speeds, with a variety of terrain including hills. My weight is 115kg, and I use rim brakes with 28 mm tyres. I dont race, and comfort is more important than speed but speed is still important. I am looking for a good stong general purpose set of rims.

LightBicycle 2019/10/24

Hi Steven, 1. Both our road bike rims AR46 (28mm wide, 46mm deep) and R45 (25mm wide, 45mm deep) are compatibile with 28mm tires. So you don't have to worry about the mouting. 2. Those two rims are with different shape as you might learn from the rim profile section (attach to you so you can compare. The R45 is with a more rounded shape, which leading edge allows for more attached airflow, which reduces drags and increases balancing side force. On the other hand, the AR46 is more of a V-shape like relatively. This provide better aerodynamics in no wind and lighter. You can choose the better fit rim base on how you goona ride and the location condition. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Wayne 2019/02/01

Hi there I am 185cm tall and weigh 87kg , I have a set of hope mono rs hubs 28/32 holes would these rims be ok for me with 28/32 holes or would the wheels be better with less spokes Thanks Wayne

LightBicycle 2019/02/02

Hi Wayne, Thanks for your inquiry! For road disc wheelset, most customers use front 24H/rear 24H, front 28H/rear 28H or front 24H/rear 28H. For front 28H/rear 32H, it is really strong enough for your riding. Don't worry. Thanks, Lightbicycle

James 2018/09/23

For US customers can I get the U45 in a 28 hole drilling? I on;y see that option for international buyers.

LightBicycle 2018/09/25

Hi, James Yes, you can have 28H rims from our North American warehouse if you like. Note that the reason why you cannot find the 28H at the North American warehouse is that we don't have stock for this rim. So the rim would be ordered to make from our factory and takes about 3~5 weeks. My suggestion is to order the rims you want directly from International (China )warehouse to save the time. Because we have last two 45C02 (25mm wide, 45mm deep with UD, matte, 28H, with brake surface ) in stock currently, which means you can get the rims in 7~10 days. We can discuss more details by mail. Please check with your inbox for our reply mail. Thanks Lightbicycle

David 2018/09/22

Hi, Can you do road rims with hole for internal nipples ?

LightBicycle 2018/09/25

Hi, David Yes, we can drill for internal nipples. the spoke hole diameter would be 2.5mm. And we won't charge extra for this. If you like to order the rims online, you can leave a message during checkout. If you like us to handle this for you, we can discuss further details by mail. We already sent an e-mail to you, please check your inbox. Thanks Lightbicycle

Rob 2018/08/07

Do these rims have groves on the brake surface similar to how other companies are doing it now to improve braking in all conditions? If not, are you planning on adding them in the future and when?

LightBicycle 2018/08/08

Hi Rob, Yes, we already have texture on rim brake surface on road rims. We will revise our website accordingly late this month or early September. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Trevor 2018/02/25

Good evening, Are the prices I'm seeing in my cart in USD or AUD? Thank You Trevor

I have a rear hub with an asymmetric spoking pattern - 16 spokes on the drive side and 8 spokes on the non-drive side. Can the angled spoke drilling be done to accommodate that (i.e. a 2:1 ratio of left-to right holes?).

LightBicycle 2017/07/11

Hello Sir, It is okay to drill 2:1 pattern for you. Are all the 24 spoke holes evenly spaced on rims? For attached two 2:1 drilling, which do you prefer? Thanks, Lightbicycle
