Disc: The disc hub has optional 6-bolt or center lock version.The matched disc rim does not have a brake track and features a unique disc specific layup process. Our new layup is about 10g ~30g lighter by reducing the unnecessary material and utilizing elements of our Flyweight construction method.

Non Disc(Rim brake): By default, the rim brake 700C road rims come with an advanced High TG surface whose braking power and reliability is significantly improved over a basalt braking surface.

Hook is for road riders who value aerodynamic gains and mostly ride on smoother roads. If you plan to run high pressure, then a hooked/clincher rim is a safe bet.

Hookless is for those who are running wider tires, lower pressures, or are riding on rougher roads. You will benefit from a more comfortable ride due to the higher volume and increased impact protection. Gravel riders and cyclocross riders are often in this situation.

Both hook and hookless rims are built using the same dimensions and materials.

Non Disc - High TG Surface: Rim Brake 700C road rims use an advanced High TG resin system with a layer of graphene to help dissipate heat. The braking power and reliability is significantly improved over a basalt braking surface.

Non Disc - Grooved Graphene Surface: Our new resin system and construction method, combined with the 3k rim track, withstands over 280°C, dissipates heat, and lowers rim temperatures faster in between braking efforts. Gain confidence-inspiring brake performance on the steepest descents and wettest conditions with our matching brake pads. Also, graphene added to the rim brake track allows for greater resistance to overheating with improved heat dissipation and reduced temperature accumulation during heavy braking. The grooved track helps evacuate trapped moisture between pad and rim in wet conditions, and brings more resistance and force at the lever when conditions are dry.

Full Custom: This option (if provided here to choose) offers custom braking track in other various weaves (UD/12K/3K twill etc) with 1-2 weeks LONGER on manufacture and extra $10USD/rim only as a start (with High TG Surface by default). Center Channel Hole This is a required option.

With Access Holes: This is the traditional method. Spoke access holes are drilled in the center channel to allow the nipples to easily be fed through the rim. Tubeless tape is required to seal the rim.

No Access Holes: No spoke access holes are drilled in the center channel. Feeding the nipples through the rim is more challenging, but it allows for a tubeless setup without the need for tape. This kind of system is known as "road tubeless" and was made popular by Mavic. Some companies still refer to it as "UST style", however, UST is actually a specific interface between the tire and rim which was developed by a partnership between Mavic, Michelin, and Hutchinson.

Currently, rims with 'No Access Holes' do not work with our carbon spokes.

Drain Hole This is a required option.

The two small drain holes located 90° to the valve hole effectively help evacuate both the water trapped inside the rim and the air leaking into the rim chamber caused by nonperfect tubeless tape sealing handwork that may risk rim explosure in an aggressive tire inflating.

It is the small reinforced layer prelaminated on the area where the drain hole is drilled later that makes the rim strength fairly ensured without any compromise of weight added.

Riders who ride in wet areas are suggested to order rims with drain holes.

We use a lightweight black alloy anodized valves with an oversized concave collar for easy gripping. A rubber o-ring goes in between the rim and the collar to help seal the rim and match the contour of the rim profile. The valve core is removable so you can add sealant without removing your tire.

With the 21mm internal width and 46mm depth, the 46mm wheels's disc version AR46 disc are well suited as an aerodynamic gravel race wheels or a deep dish cyclocross wheelset. Luke : I've been riding Light Bicycle RR46C02 (now called AR46) rims on my Eriksen custom road/gravel bike for over 4 years now and love them. Here' re the tires we mount on the AR46 (28mm wide, 46mm deep) road disc bike rim and the result for your ref, let me know your thoughts on this. --Vittoria Rubino Pro Endurance 700x28c, used 60psi, used 1 tire lever. --Continental GP5000 700x28c, used 60psi, Used a lever, possible by hand --Continental Gatorskin 700x28c, used 60psi, Relatively easy to install. Lever used --Continental Grandsport 700x28c, used 60psi, Relatively easy to install. No lever used --Schwalbe Pro One 700x28c used 60psi, Relatively easy to install. Lever used --Michelin Power Endurance 700x28c, used 60psi, used 1 tire lever. On the other hand, our WR series (Falcon Pro series) rims WR38 (32mm wide, 38mm deep), WR50 (32mm wide, 50mm deep) are easy to install above tires. Hi, I am looking for a second set of wheels for my rim brake carbon frame bike to use for weekend training rides 40-80km, and organised rides 90-150km. Please can you let me know if the WR46C02 would be suitable? I weigh 65kg, and live in an area of Sydney that can be windy at times. I will probably be using 25mm tires. Hi Martin, Thanks for inquiry on our website. 46mm deep road wheels could receive negative cross-wind affect significantly if windy days are times and times in your living area. So we recommend the similar but lower 36mm wheelset WR36C02 for you. Due to the free trade agreement between Australia and China on act since Jan 1st, 2019, you do not need to pay customs fees. Hi, I was wondering if you would recommend 24 or 28 spokes for me as I am a 64Kg rider. I would like to use the wheelset for mixed cyclocross and gravel riding as well as road riding. Also I would like run a variety of pressures from 40/45 psi for off road and 60+psi for road. Also can you build the wheelset with internal spoke nipples?

Hi Byeh, 1. It's alright for you to build 24H front and 28H on the back for this cyclocross wheelset. 2. Our recommendation tire pressure would be 40psi for hookless design. If you are planning on riding mix, sometimes with high pressure, I would say the hook version of RR460C2 (28mm wide, 46mm deep) would be the better option for you. 3. Yes, It is okay to build wheelset with internal nipples. The price is the same. For internal nipples, the spoke hole is smaller, the nipples are hidden inside the rim. Thanks, Lightbicycle
