Hookless MTB Rims 29er: 27 Wide, 24 Deep, Available Now

Quite a few customers are waiting for a few months for this new bead hook-less carbon rims. Please find as below rim specs.

It is quite hard to imagine how to secure the tire without any bead hook.

Actually hookless rim design is not new, it has been used on automotive wheels for quite a long time. It is also hook less design & using tubeless tire. Now hook less design is started to used in bicycle rims.

This rim is without bread hook, it is ok to hold tubeless and tubeless-ready tires. No need to use hook less ready tires. Our engineer started to study hookless design quite a long time ago. There is similar rim on the market, there is zero issues of holding tires for hook-less rims.

The rim wall is more smooth and straight, the tire will touch rim walls fully and mounted perfectly.

We have set up tubeless tire on it. It works well, absolutely zero air leaks.

prepare to mount the tubeless tire

using yellow tape then adding sealant

inflate the tire to 45psi

using the same method to double check a while later

Compare to head hook design, the hook less design is more durable. Because the rim wall structure is simpler. Then carbon fiber will be more continuous. It will be stronger than a hooker carbon rim at the same weight.

Here is the testing data that we have done.

Spoke tension test:Randomly choose some spoke holes for spoke tension test.

The testing data for spoke hole NO.1: around 374.26kgf, the nipple cracked, there is no crack on rim spoke hole

The testing daat for spoke hole NO.2: around 305.68kgf, the spoke cracked, there is no crack on rim spoke hole

Since the spoke & nipples are crack while testing, we can not get the max spoke tension of spoke holes. But we get the result the spoke holes can hold more than 300kgf tension.

Rim Impact test:

While the load is around 172.98kgf, the rim cracks at the vale hole area. (Pass: LB stiffness standard is 150kgf)
