TECH

The 38mm wheels are very popular amongst riders looking for a strong and wide carbon wheelset. The 31.6mm internal width works well with high volume tires and the wide bead seat helps to prevent tire burping on tubeless setups. These imposing rims have a 32mm depth so you will get a very responsive wheel that can hold it’s line through rough terrain.

For really aggressive riders or those using the bike park from time to time, we have an HD version. The HD version receives an extra wrap of 3k carbon fiber for additional wall thickness and reinforcement so they can handle G-outs better than the normal version.

I have a 2013 Santa Cruz V10 for downhill only. It is a 26" but I just had to replace my Fox40 fork and now I have a 27.5 fork. There is no room for a 27.5 on the back. So I am going to build a bullet bike. 27.5 up front and 26 in the rear. What do you recommend for rims/wheels? Do they last?

LightBicycle 2020/05/13

Hi Steve, It is okay to build front 27.5 wheel/rear 26er mtb wheel for you. 1. What tires are you running? In what widths? 2. I have a few options for your front and rear wheel, Let me know which do you think fits best. Note that we can do a reinforced version if you prefer a specific model. Thanks, Lightbicycle

I have a 2018 Santa Cruz Nomad. I want to put a set of wide carbon rims ( Downhill/ Enduro ) with i9 hub. How much will it cost me for this complete set including shipping here in LA California. Thank you very much!

LightBicycle 2018/04/25

Hi Robert, RM650BC13 has two version, standard, and heavy duty. If you are riding aggressively or you are a heavy rider, then pls go with the heavy duty version. May i know your weight and tire width please? Then we can check which 650B rim is better for your riding and make a quotation accordingly for your check. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi John, Normally, the delivery cost is USD58 for one wheelset to Australia by EMS, For tire size, you can use 2.3" to 3". For AW50 code, it is for asymmetrical wheelset only. You can go for AM733/EN733 wheelset, it is okay to use AW50 code. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Tom 2016/05/22

Hello Light bicycle, I am a highly agressive Enduro and All mountain rider, I weigh 85KG and I have a Transition Patrol, 650B wheel, large frame. I have a few questions: 1. Do you think the 38mm is overkill? 2. I wanted to know if there was any difference between this wheelset and the RM650BC13 RIM you have for sale on it's own? I see there are more options on the RIM only page, the decals look different and you have a "Heavy Duty" option not available on the wheelset page. 3. Can you do this build with purple or blue anodised spokes? 4. How much extra is the customised decal? Do I just send you the text I want or how does this customisation work? 5. What does hookless mean and does this wheel set have it? 6. If I purchase this wheel today with Blue Hope Hubs, decal customisations and purple or blue spokes, when will it arrive in Scotland? 7. Some of your wheels say "tubeless compatible", some "tubeless ready", and others nothing at all. Can you confirm what the differences are in your 650B, AM category? Thanks, Tom

Light-Bicycle 2016/05/23

Hello Rick, Thanks for your inquiry. According to your details, we’d like to recommend the 34mm width or 35mm width 29er wheels for your riding. WM29C21 (with 34mm width asymmetrical rims, Hope pro4): USD941/pair WM29C07 (with 35mm width rims, Hope pro4): USD813/pair Hope pro4 is our most popular hubs. The DT Swiss 350 and 240S are available also. If you have some change requests, we would be pleased to review your quote. Thanks, Light-bicycle
