Hi there! For the WR45, would you be able to specify the diameter of the spoke nipple access holes, at the rim bed? The ones that get covered by rim tape. Thanks!

LightBicycle 2022/12/12

Hi Nick, The spoke access holes are 8mm for standard 14G spokes and nipple wrench. Is there a reason why you like to know about this? We can customize the diameter if you request it. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi, Just wondering the advantages of the hookless version of your WR45 disc rims? I am 73kg and looking at the flyweight rims and wondering if the hookless rim would be stronger? Thanks

LightBicycle 2022/03/08

Hi Sir, - Hooks provide more stability and tire retention, especially at higher tire pressures. There's no obvious difference in strength for hook and hookless. For road rims, vertical strength is the main factor in your riding experience. Given the fact that the rim depth is the same. The vertical stiffness/strength is the same. - If you are running wider tires, lower pressures, or are riding on rougher roads, you may be a good candidate for hookless 700C road disc. You will benefit from a more comfortable ride due to the higher volume and increased impact protection. Gravel riders and cyclocross riders are often in this situation. But it has a tire pressure limit. If you want to run more than 70psi. I would recommend hook rims for safety concerns. Thanks, Lightbicycle

How stable are those rims in high speed descents and windy conditions? Planning on upgrading from 30mm deep to this one and wondering what the difference will be. Thanks!

LightBicycle 2021/06/15

Hi Paolo, The 700C rim disc shape design of WR45-32mm wide/45mm deep performs very well on both crosswinds and in no wind conditions. The stability depends on many things like rim design, speed. yaw angle, etc. So not sure what's the current rim you are using at the moment. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hello, is there a reason why the WR rims (including the WR45) do not have an asymmetrical profile? (As you probably know, the asymmetry offers the advantage of more even spoke tensions.) Thanks

LightBicycle 2020/12/02

Hi Julian, The main reason why we don't make an asymmetric version of WR rims wide 700C road is out of aerodynamics consideration. A symmetrical rim would gain more aero benefits. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi there. does the hookless variant of this rim comply with the new ETRTO standard? specifically the dimension of the bead seat diameter?

LightBicycle 2020/11/17

Hi Tom, For hook and hookless, they share the same rim mold. So, the ETRTO is the same on these WR45 road disc rims. Thanks, Lightbicycle

As a 15yo 65kg road and cross rider trying to build a super light aero wheelset do you think the flyweights would be strong enough? Thanks

LightBicycle 2020/03/26

Hi Matthew, The WR45 road disc rim with flightweight version is strong enough for 65KG rider.Do you like rims only or complete wheelset 700C? Thanks, Lightbicycle
